  • i just found this game today

  • so flipping awesome.

  • I never figured myself for a techno fan. Then I suddenly hop up, at 3:30 am and feel like listening to this...Life is funny like that lol

  • This song is so good

  • Jungle!!

  • It feels like Ape Escape 3's music was heavily influences by several tracks in this game, this one being the one that stands out most.

  • First APE ESCAPE was BEST

I Want a remake of 1st Ape escape on Psvita so hard

  • i beat this game 30 times over and everytime i play it its like new!

  • This was my most hated level as a kid. lol

  • @69Whitestkiduknow69 I hated those dang stone monkeys. They used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid D:

  • i love how when you crouched the music would go quiet! So amazing!

  • I just realized, monkeys with missiles and machine guns, not toys... actual machine guns...

    SHOOTING AT YOU!

    This was rated E???

Oh god I love this game :3

  • best......... game........... EVER!!!!!!!!!

  • @eleman97 O YA !!!

  • Someone please upload the Dinosaur Vally track!

  • Seriously, listen to Netsky - Iron Heart. Did he base the song off this one?

  • @TheCruel nah sounds more like Hello Lover by Fallen Angels

  • @TheCruel

Aha, Netsky just happens to be a drum and base artist too =P

    Surely that's no coincidence!

  • @TheCruel seriously yes.

    HE COPIED IT!

  • ape escape dubstep

  • Part at 0:24....Freakin amazing! Childhood memories, nostalgia!

  • Can you get this from the PSN store? I plan on getting a card to get some games. Anyone know if it's available to buy? I don't even have my original disc. : (

  • fuck it i have this game on psp and this song just gave me an excuse to play it alllllll day

  • :28

    awwwww yeah

  • yeah this level for some reason as a kid freaked me out and i still dont know why yet

    :\

  • @TheShortguy101 Could've been because the Robot Monkey Statues that pop out at you when you go underground i know thats what freaked me out as a kid when i played this.

  • For some reason this level creeped me out much less on the PSP...

  • Thiiss was the best game in the song!!!!!

    Hands down!!!!

  • @TheKunai777 You said that backwards lol best game in the song huh? LOL JKJK

  • @knucklesfreak101 O yur right lol

  • @TheKunai777 Make sense please.

  • this brings back memories when games were good and original. Nowa days its just fps and more fps

  • @je9999L I liked it and all, but I didn't... it's just the memories I like.. like when I was a kid playing this I was scared of it, so I kind of still am.. and I'm in 9th!!

  • Is this the level that has the monkeys named Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cratman?(Cartman mispelled on purpose)

  • i love this version of ape escape part there songs were lagging

  • what happened to the good ole days when games where simple and fun, and not so competitive, whos got better skills, or armor, whos got the best stats, whos been playing longer, whos a noob, whos not, whos got greater dps then every1 in a bg, whos got better grenade throwing skills, game sused to be about enjoyment and having fun, but now its so compitetive and full of no lives who play insulting new players that they aint good enough, damn wish games wherent so complex miss the good ole days

  • For all the people lamenting over not having access to this game-- there are playstation1 emulators out there-- and I promise you that they can run on any computer that's not more than 5 years old.

  • @macro2sancro Analog controls suck though on computers, ruining it even if you own the original disc (I do). Unless that has changed since idk, 2009 when I last tried it I think.

  • @dapperfan44 You can use your PS3 or 360 controller-- or even pick up a real cheap dual stick logitech controller and they work perfectly :)

  • @macro2sancro I tried both the logitech controller and the PS3 controller and--wait, I don't remember if I tried my PS3 controller. but I remember the logitech one didn't work, but they must've fixed the emulation from since then.

  • I can't believe some people never played this game as a kid. It may be my favorite Playstation game ever. This and of course Spyro and Crash Bandicoot

  • @PicciProductions I am the exact same those 3 games were my childhood favs but I really wish they had the original ape escape on PSN store :(

  • @archertrio I think the reason it's not on the store is because of the PSP remake being available on the store. I do have all three of the main games but I hope there'll be an HD collection.

  • dude was ahead of their time...

  • just another playstation classic not carried on to the ps3

  • Best song in the game!

  • This sounds like some Sega music... I can imagine this being part of the Phantasy Star Online soundtrack.

  • they should remake this for xbox360 and ps3

  • I can never like this level. The music gives me so many memories though.

  • @Seaturtle1015 soo true.

  • When you crawled it was so one sided^^

  • Ohhhh MEMORIES. This music was one of my favourites. These levels were awesome, required some thinking but were also fun just to explore. You never knew when you might happen across a monkey :)

  • @almw1994 haha i have the demos of all those from playstation mag x)

  • The first part kinda sounds like Helga's theme.

  • This game had the best fucking soundtrack.

  • All the memories, wow.

  • @almw1994 Tomba is the freakin best game ever.

  • @almw1994 Completely agree with you.

  • i remember this, It was one hard ass good game. had sic beats and this is one of them.

  • I love this game,, I use play this game all day and nite haha............

  • i remember this level i used to look at that giant moon while smoking a bowl and listening to this

  • @myspacecomrogiie Actually, you're thinking of the level Cryptic Relics. This song belongs to the level before that.

  • This game takes up about 30% of my childhood memory

  • @Jarabu930 More 16% for me.

  • I would get so far in this game when I was like 6 and have to start over because I Didnt have a memory card Now I do and I beat the game 3 times

  • Wow, so many people have replied to my comment! Anyways, I did miss out on a lot of PS1 classics, so sorry bout that. I was just talking about my own personal experiences.

  • holy crap i rembemer when i i went underground and i had to catch two fast monkeys, it was a little hard but i did it. thumbs up if you remeber.

  • 1 person is HEARTLESS!

  • This song reminds me an awful lot of some of the songs from Earthbound. It has that same sort of bizarre, mellow sound and melody to it.

  • a person who disliked this person couldnt afford a Ps1 or this game back in the days

  • i must say this game did have one of the best soundtracks hands down!

  • Best game for ps1 I've had, with probably the most memorable music and interesting levels. But the thought of catching monkies seems weird...

  • Best Ape Escape 1 song, and possibly the best overall main series song. But part 3 has some serious contenders in Eversummer Island, Winterville, Mount Amazing...

  • @dapperfan44 Both Mount Amazing tunes = Amazing.

  • @CrystalFissure I like Mount Amazing 2 because it sounds like the sequel to this very song, Dark Ruins.

  • Im Gonna Buy Ape Escape 1 And A Ps One In Januari Bringing My Memories back =D

  • loved this game, all i remember from childhood and this awesome house music

  • ah god man major nostalgia

  • i agree with crystal fissure.the 90s were the best for everything.music games movies you name it the 90s were the greatest.now shit nowadays are shitty.music is shitty games are shitty(except a few).tv is shitty.i mean look at disney.disney was founded and became popular and famous with farytails.make believe stuff.WHY THE FUCKIS DISNEY A REALITY CHANNEL NOW?!?!EVERYTHING WENT TO HELL.

  • i remember this game...the caracters are like paper O.o ...still...these playstation1 games rocks!!!(including ape espcape,megaman x6,crash crt and bandicoot3 ,legend of mana and much more ;)

  • First playstation game I ever played. I think I was four at the time... Ahhh, good times.

  • y is the embeding turned off?

  • God I fucking love this game :|

  • Sounds like it would Be a remix of music from earthbound and mother 3.

  • How could 1 person miss the like button, poor soul.

  • I really hope they make "ape escape 4" like the first one. It would be great to play as spike again. Have em older and more mature, that should be interesting :p

  • Passion Pit's songs remind me of this game's soundtrack.

  • Comment removed

  • pro tip: get old school games on psp - PSP custom firmware + PSX game converter ;)

  • So bloody cool. Why is Ape Escape such a Japanese Exclusive series? I mean, that "Million Monkeys" was coming to Australia and other countries, then it got canceled. i really want another Ape Escape game!

  • jus ddnt catch on mate, i loved the 1st game n 2nd never tried the third.

  • You know a game has a good soundtrack when I haven't played this game since 2000 and I still remember the stage and everything in it just from listening to this song for 10 seconds. One of my favorite games of all time.

  • So true

  • Song brought tears to my eyes, best period for games were the 90's

  • Agree with you fully. Best games were in the 1990's for the PlayStation. Here, look at this:

    - Old Spyro's.

    - Old Crash Bandicoot's.

    - Ape Escape.

    - The Croc Series.

    - Gex the Gecko.

    - Metal Gear Solid.

    - Gran Turismo (it is still good now though).

    - Many more.

Seriously, the 90's rocked. Now games are made in 5 seconds and are shitty.

  • yup, all people want are shooters, shooters, shooters, blood and gore, shooters, and more blood and better graphics. Games arent creative anymore sadly...imo

  • yes no good ole role playing, platform level games anymore. but dont worry there will eventually be a new influx of games such as this as history does repeat itself

  • truer words never typed

  • @CrystalFissure good fucking times man. i'm 18 and i was young when the ps1 came out. ps1 4 ever.

  • @CrystalFissure dont forget Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time / Majoras Mask

  • @CrystalFissure yeah man, crash and spyro, metal gear, ape escape, and gran turismo were the best series on playstation.

  • @CrystalFissure

I dont understand how games now days put me 2 sleep

they have betta graphics n better engines n what not

yet they get boring after da first week

90s did rock teh music the atmpsphere the movies

THE CARTOONS the sitcoms the economy EVERYTHING

hell even wrestling was watchable shit

  • @CrystalFissure

    You forgot Rayman :)

  • @CrystalFissure All of these games are classics, but I tire of such nostalgia posts. Games nowadays, if anything, take far longer to develop in real terms and in terms of man power. There are plenty of great titles out now and in absolute terms, a greater number of games are released each year. I can agree that there are more FPS games now than in the past, but you could say that the past was dominated by platformers in a similar way. The 90's were perhaps a better time for children's games.

  • @DrewCameronFilms No I agree with you mostly. There are definitely many great games made now. Definitely. however, I beilive that the gaming market is beginning to contain more crappy games than masterpieces.

  • @DrewCameronFilms Games are NO WHERE as good as they use to be, over saturated with FPS which only few are any great ! Back then we had medal of honour, perfect dakr and golden eye ! There is almost no individuality and the game companies and exclusives are on the decline, yes there a few great but what games from this genraiton apart from a few are truly up to this kind of standard !? I am 20 i still play uncharted, rachet and clank and infamous and god of war..

  • @dckitchen

There are still some great games. Both Uncharted games are massive fun, I don't really do FPS but MW2 is the best to date (in my opinion anyway). You have to sift through a lot more shit these days that's for sure.

  • @lastplacewin yer i said that, uncharted series - great, rachet and clank = great, infamous = great, little big planet = great and a few more like god of war, demons souls and in the WII in particular has in my opinion the best game of the generation mario galaxy 1 and 2. Xbox has no original platformers and only halo as a original fps where ps3 has socom killzone resistance which are all better than cod in my opinion. o yer and left for dead.

  • @CrystalFissure

I concur, but you forgot all the cool SNES titles. Super Castlevania, Donkey Kong Country trilogy, Megaman X etc also had kickass music!

I'd also like to add Mickey mania to your list of kickass PS1 platformers with good music, even though it was a copy of the SNES version, the music was better in the PS1 version. Crash Team Racing, Toy Story Racer etc had also good soundtracks.

  • @Menegrothx I would have mentioned the SNES games, but I have never played them. And I bundle CTR with the original soundtracks, yes, they were awesome. I also missed out the Streets of Rage series music..

  • @CrystalFissure Well, games by sony. You are forgetting games like Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Halo Reach.

  • @CrystalFissure omg gex the gecko is it that game where ur that detective gecko going through haunted houes and stuff ? and is it 4 n64

  • @Wizard2063 It's a platformers. The second and third game were on N64, yes.

  • @CrystalFissure you nailed it totally mate absolutely agree compared to todays junk

  • @CrystalFissure dont for get about the old street fighter games, vs capcom series, tomb raider, tetris and cool orders lol

  • @CrystalFissure Don't forget Dino Crisis

  • @Wildyftw Definitely can't forget Dino Crisis :)

  • @CrystalFissure and casual retards are retarded D:

  • Tomb Raider? Resident Evil?

The PS1 had it all. And in my opinion, this game was the best of them :D

  • I agree with you man!!

  • @CrystalFissure Except for Duke Nukem Forever.

  • This game = Classic

  • who made the ape escape sound track

  • I think it was a guy called RAM. I only discovered this when i was reading facts about bemani composers and I couldnt believe it myself.

  • best music ever!!!! fav and 5 star!!!

  • This was one of my favorite places to play JUST because of the music...I LOVED Ape Escape! In fact I STILL have it! I may need to go back refresh my memory...HAHAHA

  • whoa this awesome track was on the PLAYSTATION 1 !!!!!!!!!

  • cool

  • Part of this song reminds me of K.K. D&B.

  • I remember playing this over 10 years ago! The music of this level always makes me soo sleepy! Good ol times! =) I still play it as we speak!
