  • the mountain turns red hot

    EPIC

  • Very beautiful. My husband and I visited and while I slept one very early morning he took a walk up the mountain a ways. He still talks about the little lady carrying the milk on her back coming down the mountain!

  • Favourited. It's my dream to explore the world, and especially, to live in an Alpine Cottage.

  • We were in Zermatt a few years back and I took a photo of the Matterhorn at sunrise from our hotel room balcony. When we returned home I entered it in a photo competition & won AU$200. It is a truely inspireing sight.

  • so wats the story to this mountain. wat do they tell u when u visit?

  • My goodness, this was wonderful to watch...

  • Many thanks glad you enjoyed it.

  • do again in HD!!

  • Thanks, would love to be back there, but might not be as lucky with the weather. The climb out of the village in the dark was difficult enough but had to be done to get in position.

  • DAMMIT I WANTED THE ONE AT DISNEYLAND!!! jkjk this one's fine, but i fell asleep watching it. boring. stupid switzerland. the only reason i like you is because of fifa and thats not even an entirly good reason! :P

  • Hey Gordon

Its really a great movie, I'm so impressed. Do you have another version with a higher resolution? I need it for a presenation in school. It would be so great if you could help me.

    Thanks in advance

    Carole

  • btw what camera did you use and how much zoom power did it have?

  • Hi, It was a Sony Hi8 Handycam CCD-TR810E that has 15X optical and 30X digital. But I am fairly certain that i would have only used a small amount of optical zoom.

Hope you get good weather, like I did, if you go to do the same thing.

    Gordon

  • @geemacm Thank you very much for the info.

I have only 10x zoom thats why I asked :)

  • @geemacm

You were right. The zoom wasn't the problem at all. but the weather was. :(

    So many clouds....

  • Is this the stelli see?

  • I am not sure of the name of the lake, but it is close to the Sunnegga lift building. The coordinates on 'Google Earth' are 46deg 00' 54.21'' N and 7deg 46' 20.72'' S

  • @geemacm Thank you very much. I can use that with my gps :)

  • @geemacm it's riffellake

  • Extremely moving, and profoundly beautiful.

  • @greencatmusic many thanks for your comments

  • Wow! This is Awesome!!! Can I ask you though, how did you get your camera so straight to tape that sunrise?

  • Hi there and thank you for your nice comment.

There was enough light to get the camera set up on the tripod and then just let it run for an hour or so.

The start appears pitch black in this video but that is just the editing.

  • brutal geile aufnahme amazing

  • Disneyland's pretty cool, isn't it?

  • magnifique...

  • Beautiful!

  • Thanks for your comments.

  • what type of camera do you have

  • It is a Sony Hi-8 tape camera and the model is CCD TR810E, I have had it for quite a few years now. I just set it up on the tripod and let it record for about an hour!

  • excellent vid thanks!!!

  • Incredible - well done!

  • amazing video, hi friend, can u tell me where is the lake and its name & location? Is it schwarsee? Pls reply as i will go zermatt soon, i wish to go to the lake, is it accessible by car coz i am driving! thanks Villen Danke

  • Hi, the lake is just below the Sunnegga mountain train station, which an underground fenicular railway leaving Zermatt village. You can't drive to the lake, and you can't even drive to Zermatt (it is car free). You have to park in Tasch and get the train to Zermatt. Enjoy your visit.

  • Thanks Geemacm, I will definitely enjoy the trip.
