Alan is easily the best guitarist I have ever seen. The videos on youtube do not do him justice. The shows at The Big Easy in Houston are the best because of the sound quality in my opinion, followed by all the clubs in Austin. He sounds better than ever right now too!! Seen him about 5-6 times already in 2010. He is a very kind man and very respectful.
yes, great to see his videos here. I first saw (and met) Alan back in the 70's when he played 'the glass hat' and 'diamonback' (nickel beer night). In houston, he still plays usually the last saturday every month at The Big Easy Social Club in the west U area, kirby near bissonett I think. Yeah, he's autographed one of my guitars, right next to Robin Trower :)
Wow,I was so glad to see that Alan Haynes was on YouTube!I have seen this man in Houston @ Fitzgeralds,do not know if the place is still there or not.I do know that he was awesome then and still is.People that are familiar w/him know that it used to be Alan Haynes & the Stepchildren...no matter who he plays with,he kicks ass!
used to catch the texas boogie band back in the mid to late 1970s at maxes on the border,diamond head club in the village and the domeshadows

I was a bartender at the Beer Barn on Stonecrest and Alan was like the house band . The Texas Boogie Band . Great times !

Beer Barn was on Stonecrest off of Ella Boulevard - used to go see Texas Boogie Band every weekend they played! Miss those fun days!
