@TenTonTommy777 Well to your first point, it all depends on which sutras/suttas you consider to be authentic. Also, the Buddhist canon contains many contradictary positions, since the Buddha taught skillfully to suit the needs of his audience.

In essence, you are making the vow to purify delusions of yourself and others, which obstruct our inner potential for enlightenment, the purity and innocence represented by the baby Buddha.
sounds like christianity to me..it's no secret buddhism gotten deluded over the centuries and emphasis on rituals and such are given more attention
buddhism is not a religion..it's a way to awaken the self through your own efforts by insight meditation and knowledge and compassion..turn this into a religion like many have and all those things are in the background
