I just got a Macbook Pro and bought this Speck case as well. The case/shell itself is great. Easy installation, it just snaps on. Haven't had any drops yet but I am positive this case can keep the Pro from getting everyday use scratches, etc. A great purchase!

@3DSNGP No. Even it it did some how create a very small scratch it's still better to have a protective layer surrounding your computer than leaving it unprotected.

I got a question,,,,i got a dent on my macbook pro on the top by the mac logo. Can this case cover up the dent? I look at the dent everyday and it bothers me...thanx

Does it latch onto the screen so that it scratches the glossy screen? Do you have any scratches on it because of the case today?

@JasonAnomaly It doesn't latch to the screen, it latches to the thin strip of aluminum right outside of the screen. I personally had mine for a year (without ever taking it off). When I finally took off my case my laptop and case were really dirty. I did noticed a couple of shiny spots on the bottom of my laptop (as if dirt got in there and the friction of the laptop and case shined the aluminum). As far as the latches causing scratches . . . . Not at all.

This case makes the screen super heavy and if you tilt it, it will close or tilt all the way back. Very annoying. I just use the bottom of the case.

The cracking on the edge of the white macbook is terrible. Seems like no one that owns one has been able to keep the corners in tact. Really looking forward to the aluminum on the pro

these cases are very good. it will only make scratches on it if you dont clean it really good before you put it on. huge mistake when i put one of these on my first macbook but i really like it.

I was just wondering if the palm resting area (just below the keyboard and around the trackpad) has worn away or discolored in any way? Are there any dents etc etc.. I've been thinking about getting a moshi palmguard but most of those things look like shit and I like the natural look of the macbook pro's inside. Thanks in advance for any help!

@pobletememo the inside of the speck is a high shine gloss finish making it very smooth and i've had it on for around 8 months and had no scratches. hope that helps

@pobletememo not too much.. at first you'll notice the difference but you will get used to and plus you know your laptop is protected. but buy with confidence.. if not sure about something don't get and wait till you find something you are comfortable with.

@strickmans no i doesnt scratch your mac at all.. an i reccomend you take it off and give the case and your mac a whipe down with a microfibre around once a month.
