Eterna guerreira!!!

  • I prefere the version from the African concert

  • What language is she singing in? Zulu? Xhosa? Swazi? I can't tell.

  • @ImperialistRunningDo She is SInging in ZUlu

  • superb cover of a truly african song

  • 'tis only Mama's body what has died. Her soul remains forever.

  • love this!!!! yo!

  • heel goed ,johanna

  • Hearing this, I just want to quit my job, live on a island with one palm tree, enjoy the soothing sounds of "African Skies" and wile away my time drinking midori on ice !!

  • <- Happy.

  • God bless your soul Mama Africa. The world mourned when you passed away.

  • A majestic performance of peace.

  • brilliant

  • rest in peace Miriam. Now you sing for us in heaven

  • Thanks for the music miriam rip -may you sing in heaven

  • My friends in Luchenza Malawi are kept in my heart through this song....till I see you again...love

  • wow.. amazing :)

    GRAZIE

  • ...beautiful.

  • Rest in peace mama afrika, we will miss you forever

  • do you have the rest of the concert? awsome!

  • @thinmandj This is aconcert in the 1980s in Zimbabwe. I had the entire video. I think you can get it from Amazon. Try probably " Paul Simon, Graceland concert".

  • @kodonga This is not a concert from the 80s. It's a concert in San Sebastian, Spain, as I wrote in the credits of this video. I recorded in a VHs tape and then transferred to a dvd. I'm completely sure it's in San Sebastian. It was broadcasted on a Spanish Tv chanel circa 1990

  • @ckovertime Thank you for your information. But I insist I had the same video I bought in London in the late 80s but which a friend of mine took from me. If it wasn't a concert from the 80s then why was the cassette video available on the market by then?

  • @ckovertime Oh By the way, I have just checked and I am right. The concert was right in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1987. That is why Miriam Makeba says that she was happy to be "home". It couldn't therefore have been Spain. You can still get the VHS from Amazon.Check your facts.

  • @kodonga Ok,Come on... Will I have to post another video from this concert where the credits say it is recorded in Sab Sebastian? Do you want me to do that really?

  • @ckovertime Listen, if you want to do that then by all means. But I am now more than sure that "Graceland" was in Zimbabwe and it was way back in 1987 not in Spain. I bought the VHS of the concert in 1988 in London. Even the Lyrics of music shows it was in Africa not Europe. Go to Amazon.co.uk and search " Paul Simon's Graceland" and you will find it on sale and also the reviews.I say check your facts again.I HAD THIS VIDEO WAY BACK IN THE 80s OK.

  • I have seen another version on YouTube performed in an outside stadium in Africa. I was sure I had heard Miriam Makeba sing: "I said take this child, lord/From the township of Marpolo (sic)/" But the original lyrics actually say take the child from tucson, arizona. I haven't listened to THIS version yet, but it will be interesting to hear if she adapts the lyrics to reflect this location too.

  • @brummieInAmerica the other live version also has the lyric: around my grandmother's door instead of my nursery door :)

  • @brummieInAmerica It's township of Mofolo. A township in Soweto, South Africa. But you are right in the album it says tuscon, arizona. I guess when they were touring Africa they just thought it would be better to put Mofolo.

  • @oKangwane Thanks for bothering to answer this. Those lyrics are so touching - she shows that to give a child wings to fly through harmony as exquisitely as she does, gives to the listening world around her, the most priceless gift. For a moment, she creates an aura that I wish could be harnessed to create more peace in the world.

  • @ckovertime Ok,ckovertime. Ithink we are both talking about two different things.I realise what you are saying. What I am saying is that the original Graceland concert was a mega concert held in Zimbabwe which you can check out on Youtube. Yours could be a repeat version done by Paul Simon again and Miriam Makeba. Sorry for the mixup.

  • @kodonga Ah! Now I know what you mean. Of course this is part of the same tour, promoting "Graceland"... This video from San Sebastian is from 1989

  • @ckovertime It's July 1989, on the Graceland Tour.

  • 2 legends

  • awesome version, thanks for posting

  • omg I love them both...Rip Miriam

  • This is great! i've never seen this one before. do you have the rest of the concert?

  • very nice performance, i love how he slowed it down from the south african concert, it fits the song much better
