i'm going into industrial design yet i struggle with getting any curves right in perspective,

example - the further headlight on a car thats at the same angle as the one in the video,

this is absolutely outstanding! Did you study the drawing? Hey and how you know EXACTLY where to put the shadows on the car and the reflections? Because it is really hard sometimes, especially on the cars which are ..difficult shaped (sorry for my english). And I really adore that woman and man in there, really it is professional. ...and eh sorry but I think that when you drew that background in random shapes it looked a bit better than shaped exactly to fit the buildings. But I love it =).

i cant tell you how many times ive watched this video. i can draw anything on paper but learning this program and photoshop, illustrator etc. has been the hardest thing possible. Where did you learn how to do this with the tablet. Im going to school soon to become an industrial designer. I love this stuff. Please tell me where you learned it

Proportions are pretty tweaked. Your people are huge and so are the wheels. If that guy stood up the roofline of the car would be below his waist.

Whatever happend to the good old pencil and sketchpad lol Great vid. I really find it intriguing how you can use a program so skillfully to craft a sketch. It really must take talent and dedication. idk if i'll ever get out of my love for drawing on actual materials, but these digital sketches seem to be much more practical since you can have it saved without worrying if it gets damaged and you can just print it up if you want. Great work.

Yep.. some like Painter, some SBPro.. ive been using PS since version 7 almost on daily basis.. and ive never understood how to use both Painter and SBP... maybe they just have some learning curve that i havent achieved during the testings..

Don't need a Cintiq. But you do need a tablet of some sort. Wacom has a bunch for really cheap.

It works with a mouse, but it's virtual torture.

I've been drawing pretty much my whole life. But SketchBook dramatically changed my workflow and style right away. I took a few classes when

I was a kid but didn't learn much. I try to get to as many figure drawing sessions as I can get to as well. I went to design school, but they didnt really focus on sketch much at all. So basically, it's the answer everyone hates hearing: practice. BUT I really like anything from Gnomon Workshop for DVDs, you can always learn so much.

Hey, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I'm using SketchBook too. There probably isn't much that you haven't used already. It's a very light app, that lets you just draw. But the main thing is to take full advantage of layers. Go crazy with them . I use at least 50 layers for any given drawing. that way you can paint without worrying about the rest and hard erase back, as sort of a work around for masking. But, you should check out SBP 2010 so many awesome tools added.
