Android + Verizon is an awesomeness that can't be matched. I have seen epic commercials, and I have seen feel-good-family-type commercials. The versatility in the marketing is so entertaining that if it wasn't for CDMA, I'd totally be a Verizon customer.

I don't know why you would buy a Droid X when Verizon is going to release the Droid 2 sometime between August and November of this year. It has a better processor and a better camera.

Droid 2 is different, has a slide out keyboard and entirely different functionality. It is not a replacement for this phone. Its a replacement for the Droid 1

In this case, it has a large screen (with a higher pixel density), better camera (w/ 720p video capture capabilities), no QWERTY keyboard, HDMI output, N WiFi connectivity, Motoblur (though a less annoying version than featured on certain other Motorola phones), better battery life, better CPU/GPU, etc. And no, it's not cheaper.

@Kantabar Interesting, the helmet on the floor is a fighter pilots helmet, , plus before they went in the hatch, it was slightly open, (which means there was someone in there), aaaaalso, when they did go inside, there were things on the floor, which could have been from items from the suit, and last when they had the lights on, it showed another hatch on the other side of where they were standing.

I hope there is a sequalto this commercial.

The next Droid phone is the Droid 2, launching in August. It's a refresh of the original Droid. After that, the Droid Pro will launch (late 2010/early 2011). It will be a significant new model with a next generation processor, probably a front-facing camera, and overall much better specs. It'll probably have some crazy high-res screen as well; maybe LTE/4G, too!

@MamiyaOtaru Actually, I'm not that convinced of that, Verizon has been advertising the living hell out of the X for a bit now it's a fair bet that most people will at least have an idea what the X is, and 'Droid' is certainly common enough to be recognized. Secondly, we live in an age where the target audience for this device are almost always connected anyways, it's a great way to drive traffic to the Verizon site, while creating a good 'buzzworthy' ad.
