cup doesn't mean "cue up" it means "cue play" and simply plays back the track starting from cuepoint, whereas the cue button just jumps to the cuepoint and plays back the track only as long as you push the cue button.....

I think the beatgrid function is kind of unnecessary. There are just very few songs that are not properly analyzed by Traktor Pro so there's no worries. But it's good to know of course.

Im just gettin my feet wet here and Im torn between traktor and VDJ 6, Im kind of leaning toward VDJ. I may just say to hell with it and get ableton, but im not sure how ableton live 8 is for mixing/ live dj compared to the fore-mentioned programs. Any input you guys have would be great

it seems to me that vdj is good and all but that it has a lot of superfluous stuff to it. while thats cool it isnt necessarily essential and it inflates the price while traktor is more of ur dj meat and potatoes.

some of them are, a few big names i can think of are carl cox and richie hawtin! yet i dont think they use the sync button cuz they're used to beatmatchin

being a dj requires a lot of practice so u can improv and adapt to any environment, remember that you wont have your computer always with you, ive been to parties where the computer crashes so you need to use whatever equipment you have without any software, u can learn a lot from Traktor (mixin wise), if you wanna produce i recommend ableton!

@dbkovalev Go to File - Preferences - Keyboard Mapping, there you have all the shortcuts. As you see, the default isn't SHIFT + 1,2,3,4 , it is Q,W,E,R and SHIFT + Q,W,E,R for your 5,6,7,8
