Even though they cost a ton, they have WAY more potential than an STI or even the Camaro in this video. Having more cubes doesnt mean you automatically have more power, but it gives you potential to have more. The base Vette comes with a 6.2L LS3... not sure how big the boxer is but I can tell ya that if a boxer and LS3 were built up to exact specs, the boxer would look pretty damn silly.

I just compared the Vette to the STi since they both make good numbers engine wise, and they handle great but both come w/ a hefty price tag for either since they both do more than drive fast in a straight line. The EJ257 (2.5liter) is the Vette motor of Subaru. It has its down falls but its mostly b/c people don't fully understand the motor. I'm partial to both Chevy and Subie
@adidas2284 As I stated I am not bashing on the subi, and the one time you might catch me doing so is when its being compared to an EVO. The only real thing about subi's I don't like is ironically what actually makes them unique... the boxer. Flat motors may have a better center or gravity, but parts for a flat motor are not as common nor cheap as an inline motor, which is why I prefer the EVO to the STI and any subi really. Not to mention basic maintenance is a bit more difficult too.

Ok to start off with the subaru is a WRX it has just over 200kw it's 4wd and it's turbo.... Also wrx's are quicker in a strait line compared to an STI figure that... Back to the point, the commodore is older than the Subaru and it's only a 5.7 it's prob got around 260kw stock and that's only RWD so it's a pretty fuckin fair race to me. @mikescharger6983 WRC measures actual displacement by .7L for a turbo x Normal displacement. It's not related to how much PSI it has for actual displacement. so its a 3.4L technically.
@Bane1313 Wrong, boost doubles the size of any displacemetn every 14psi. So for an STI being a 2.5L, at 14psi it would be equivalent to a 5L, boost is directly related to displacement, the more displacement the more power it makes under the same boost which is why it takes MORE boost on a smaller motor to make the same power as a bigger motor. That STI is boosting more than 14psi, hell stock its around 20 so its boost to displacement ratio makes it bigger than the SS, regardless, SS isnt boosted
@mikescharger6983 first of all, my bad i was mixing the displacement with the gc8 sti which was 2L... either way, you have 2.5L the stock boost is not near 20 psi i have no idea where you heard that, subaru rates it at 10 psi, but if you hook up a gauge itll hit around 12-13 psi. And knowing that you're information there is unreliable, i dont know who would trust your lies about your displacement doubling.

kinda conflicted on this vid, i have both of those types cars XD love my subby, very fun to drive but come on guys use your noggin a little bit if you turbo or supercharge a v8 in a straight up race the subby will get its ass burned but take that race to a dirt road and the camaro will be done. They all have their advantages guys, give respect where it's due, very nice cars by the way :)

@mikescharger6983 lmfao, first off...a simple new Down Pipe, Exhaust and COBB A/P would make a "stock sti" able to beat an SS by about 2 cars, and hmm thats no more then $1.5k in mods and cheaper if you know how to buy your mods correctly...as for this particular "STI" i am oretty sure its not even an STI im sure its a WRX with a couple of mods to add his peak PSI and some other goodies. That being said, an STI is only KBB priced at $27,000 Real world price is around $22k

there's a reason people always mistake an STI for being a V8 when it's only a Flat-4 Boxer engine. engine setup is what makes this car a beast. IMO im pretty sure this Camaro owner who depending on the year SS either put ton's of money into it's faggy exhaust sounds(flow masters) and trying to restore the vehicle...Muscle isn't always going to win, and Muscle heads will have to learn that already, i know the ones i take with my 2007 SWP STI sure have, and they usually say wow nicecar

@Bane1313 Wrong, boost doubles the size of any displacemetn every 14psi. So for an STI being a 2.5L, at 14psi it would be equivalent to a 5L, boost is directly related to displacement, the more displacement the more power it makes under the same boost which is why it takes MORE boost on a smaller motor to make the same power as a bigger motor. That STI is boosting more than 14psi, hell stock its around 20 so its boost to displacement ratio makes it bigger than the SS, regardless, SS isnt boosted

@mikescharger6983 first of all, my bad i was mixing the displacement with the gc8 sti which was 2L... either way, you have 2.5L the stock boost is not near 20 psi i have no idea where you heard that, subaru rates it at 10 psi, but if you hook up a gauge itll hit around 12-13 psi. And knowing that you're information there is unreliable, i dont know who would trust your lies about your displacement doubling.
