Can somebody help me out? When I use EDIROL, I assign each track to EDIROL and each track will only run one of the above instruments. so for a production like this I would have to have 15 EDIROL's running at once in my mixer, but it looks like they've just used one. How did they do this?

@RamonCalvoMusic f.e. in Cubase: Open Edirol once from your VST-Instruments list. Then open a new midi track and connect its output to Edirol. Choose the midi channel according to your track/instrument list within Edirol. That's how they did it.

@SAMUELDESY I really doubt it. Anvil Studio isn't a DAW like FL Studio or Ableton, it works purely in the default normal 128 MIDI instruments.

Some sounds are convincing but others remind me of the Super Nintendo (Super Famicom) or Casio CSM 10.

I own a copy so I can say that if you use it well you can get a very good set of sounds from it, especially when used as backing for a real violin, cello or horn.

I really like the violins and drums on it.

@FlowDeBarrio2004 Depends on what DAW you use. I use FL studio. You have to set the VST's input channel to a unique number. Then you add a "midi out" channel and give it's output "port" number the same as the VST's input. Then you just switch the "channel" around. You can automate which instrument it plays or you can have multiple midi out channels with a different "channel" number. (i think 1-16)

I got a problem with it. When I use it with FL Studio and select different instruments, after saving the project and opening again all instruments are flutes (I mean the default ones) :/ Anyone knows how to solve it ?

I have that. That sounds more wonderful than I expected. This is probably one of the best orchestral VST applications. It doesn't have "too" many instruments. It has just right and desirable instruments. This is absolutely recommendable. I use it on Cubase 5 and works freaking great!!

to use this, its like adding a new sample, just add a MIDI out, choose a channel on the Midi, and match it with the [---] you'll see on the edirol VST in the upper right hend corner. Each Midi out you add, will have its own channel for each of the slots of the plug in.

You have to assign the midi track/input to a diffrent channel, and have that channel matched by the intrument's channel, when you want to use multiple istruments within one plugin.

Hopefully that'll clear things up :)

The MAJOR problem with this vst is that it doesn't automatically save your instrument selections in the rack. I use FL Studio for example, if you load instruments, then close the file and re-open, you will lose your instrument selections, UNLESS YOU SAVE IT manually, which is retarded...

"preset as" but same result:( if you could let me know would be life saving, I have a string intro that I have to keep setting up every time I load my track up, which is driving me nuts as I already only know how to use the top instrument selection and have the vst loaded up like 8 times in my step sequencer for each instrument! thanks mate would appreiciate your knowledge on this!

@megatonflare click the "system" button and go to the "file" tab. There you can save 4 preset files (for all different kinds of settings) and load them the next time you open the project. I usually make a seperate folder for each project with the settings in it

@joowa0 Yup, that's exactly how you "manually" save it, which is a bit annoying because now you have to worry about having a separate file for this vst. Normally all of my vst's maintain their presets when I close FL...

BTW changing the colour of midi boxes in a piano roil makes the notes work with other instrument in the one edirol instance. before I got this I used to generate 6 separate instances for 6 separate midi tracks, now I got whole I want in one piano roll under one edirol instance (16 in one instance). just a lil' hint to make work more effective xD cheers!

The only problem I have found with Edirol Orchestra is the preset of instruments, they can't be saved. So I must everytime I open my project I must select individually the instruments... there must be a way to save the preset! Thanks in advance.

@hjiuhfhrehui Hey again.. to find it you will need a music software such as Fruity Loops Studio 7, 8 or 9.. you open FL Studio.. Right Click on one of your instruments.. Select "INSERT".. Then select "MORE" (at the top of your drop out menu).. at the bottom of the next box click "REFRESH" - then fast scan.. then look for the "EDIROL ORCHESTRAL VST" and make sure the box is ticked or has an F in it.. close that box.. Right click an instrumnent again then selct "INSERT" then select Edirol Orchest.

PrinceLilSky, if you have UTorrent, type in on a search box "EDIROL ORCHESTRAL ", then click the first link ("Edirol HQ Orchestral (download torrent) - TPB").

Then click "DOWNLOAD THE TORRENT".

After download 100%, install it.

Then put the "Orchestral.DLL" in the VST plugins.

If you use FL Studio, you're all done.

(In OTHER composing softwares, I don't know if there's VST folders to put the "Orchestral.DLL".)

What's killing me is how Cubase won't allow me to use the midi to set the program and patch for orchestral. Nuendo would let me do it but I can't find any info how to fix this. This is important because when you close out any DAW and open back up your saved project the instruments reset on Orchestral.

@DaColdFlash I agree. S.O.Gold is absolutely amazing...I use it frequently for the violins with hard vibrato, I swear to god people think I actually play violin it's THAT realistic. lol. Another VST killer is Spectrasonics Omnisphere...I use that probably more than anything with the Audjoo Helix combo, really good stuff!!

But for simple application (I like a lot of Ooh and Aah type of stuff, it sounds killer) I use it a lot. I imagine if I had a LOT more time to mess with it I'd be able to blow my own mind...
