  • I am in job I don't like, but have just put a deposit on a house. The pay is reasonable but I feel there is no route to progression or advancement and all my hard work goes unnoticed. I have recently been accused of some thing I did not do, which was dropped very quickly when I used terms such as deformation of character and damaging my integrity. It has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I feel trapped because I have a house to pay for. What do I do???

  • Very motivating.....me myself did have fear of quitting my job...but all i can say im glad i did it....weak or strong economy does not matter.....it is in you how you will direct your life in terms of financial, time management...most probably dream of becoming the boss of your company.......

  • great video...very motivating...the problem with many ppl is that even though they can say "NO" to all the questions...ppl feel stuck and depressed because there's no other opportunities out there...the days of quitting jobs without another is long gone i think...especially in this weak economy...any thought?

  • Same Job >> 8 yrs later same pay

  • Another good way to find out: Are your co-workers, managers all talking about quitting or even really quitting?

If so, it's time to plan your next move.

Even a so-called dream job (good pay, good people, good location, good job scope) may not stay that way forever. Things are moving fast these days. Maybe the company's taken over by a shitty management. Maybe a rival company is winning.

You may not want to change your job, but the job has already changed for you - and not in a good way.

  • I am 17, and I work as a parcel at a local Fredmeyer, Its a great job, and I have great coworkers, but I am still in high school and I am gettting behind in my school work even when I am doing 20 hrs a week, I almost failed a class. I wake up at 5:30 to get ready for highschool, get home around 4 and have to get to work by five, and then get home around 12, I am tired when I go to school, and I am exhausted, I really dread having to go to work, what should I do in your opinion?

  • No i dont like this video. It doesnt help at all.

Its like asking should i eat or not cause could i have to chew it. So ill just stop eating. Pretty stupid. Now if you give some conclusion or solution to this question, then this video might be helpful.

I myself dont have a job and im surviving but for others they dont have that option or solution. Dont quite your job unless your smart or creative, otherwise your gonna suffer really bad, unless you want death as a quick way out of this system.

  • answers to the video question -- 1.im unhappy in my job every given day, even on my days off. 2.its a dead end job. 3.access to mean people, 3. i'll be making 6% less in two years our salaries have gone down over time. i get sick and stomach hurts when its time to go to work. I hate my job so much that have trouble eating and sleeping, as a result i've lost 30lbs and my hair is falling out. help!! ;0

  • @ColeeWolee sorry about your work place situation. It certainly sounds familiar, good luck!

  • This video is very creative and good quality one..and ur facts are right way...but my theory is no quit jobs before find another..cz we need money ...thanks

  • exactly why i quit my job today. all the reasons you mentioned I have gone tru my thought over and over. its so true

  • Thank you Lee. This is a great laser test to determine whether to stay or go.

I have a good job with all the trimmings. Love my boss, my agency, the people, the work we're doing. Could improve the financial outlook by going for a promotion. Oh wait - I did try another job. I liked my old work group so much I was running to go back after a 8 month trial.

So, freedom with my time is number one. More money doing rewarding work that I'm passionate about. Heck yes.

P.S. I love the Six Month Jump.

  • Good points! Thanks for the upload!

  • Thank you for this -- at the moment I'm trying to figure out if I should quit my retail job (I'm treated horribly and paid horribly) to work at a factory with my sister. I'd be making more, but there's no guarantee it would be permanent work. Everything's a risk... I'm almost thinking it's better just to jump into the water and see where life takes you -- I'd rather be happy.

You've given me some things to think about. :)

  • Hey I quit my job in May '09. I had to resign as I became sick from all of the mental and physical toll the job took from me. I have a mortgage and responsibilities but if I hadn't have quit then the stress accumulated from idiot workers and bad management would have killed me. Don't be afraid to jump ship and leave your job. No job is worth putting your physical and mental health at risk.

  • @blindtoad u right!

  • @blindtoad my job is making me sick too ive lost 30lbs and my hair is falling out

  • I'm working in retail and there is opportunity for advancement, but I really don't want it. I used to be a teacher until I realized I actually want nothing to do with the public school system. Now I work a simple job that pays the bills. I have a Jeep payment that has a year left and a student loan that has two and a half years. I'm going to stay the course for now, but once I get out of hawk, I'm probably going to quit my job and persue my passions of writing and photography. I love this video!

  • Great job on this video. It really helped.

  • Thank you so much for this video, I'm working in retail right now, while I don't absolutely hate it, I certainly don't like it. All I want to do is quit, but I don't want to disappoint my dad by being unemployed AGAIN. I really want to study and gain education in business or something more intellectually stimulating, and I can't do this while working where I am.

  • Thankss!!

  • I love where I work now. When I worked in ShopRite, there was no chance for advancement at all. I was a bagger, and as far as my bosses were concerned, that was it for me. I only worked twice a week and I had no form of insurance at all. My paycheck basically paid for my lunches at work.

Now, I work three days a week, get paid a lump sum every two weeks, and I have health care. There's no way short of illness or death that I could ever fathom leaving.

  • I already know I need to leave my current job, but my biggest issue is knowing what I want to do next. The minute I have a goal, I can make steps to attain it, but right now, I just don't know.

  • I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to make films and teach - that was about it.

But I never would have figured out exactly what if I'd stayed in my job. It's too much of a time and focus suck. Leaving became a key factor in figuring out what would come next.

  • @TheDeadlyAvenger may I suggest try making money online. There are a lot of sites promoting making money online. I use to be like you undecided what to aim for

  • excellent video--well thought out and helpful.

  • Very, very insightful and right to the point. Well done.

  • wow! this video is right on time. I was just asking myself a couple of days ago whether or not I should quit my job. Since its my first job I didn't really know how to go about making the final decision. This video was very helpful. Thank you so much.

  • I love my job, but this video could be very helpful for some people. Great work 5*

  • Excellent video. Will help a lot of people get to grips with this issue.

  • i am going to college to get into the growing wind energy industry. from all the people i talk to they love it, i am excited and cant wait to go back to work. it will be 2 1/2 years with a job
