@trammelant All of Gilgamesh's swords are counterfeits of the Legendary Swords wielded by many of the FF saga's heroes. I guess the only exception is the Blade of Legend he wields but that could be an imitation of the Wyrmhero Blade, the secret weapon unlocked after defeating the game's hardest bosses: Yiazmat and Omega Mk 12 and getting a hidden item found in the Fishing minigame. He also wields Tidus' Brotherhood sword and Squall's Gunblade I believe.

@zuser I think it's a reference to the original Mesopotamian legend of Gilgamesh. Enkidu is supposed to be dead, making him a zombie in Final Fantasy's context. Consider how Revive kills zombies in Final Fantasy, and it should all make sense.

I love Gilgamesh, he's always an interesting character. And the fact that he's using fake versions of various weapons is hilarious. I sometimes wonder if he acquired these weapons, not knowing their fake, doesn't care if their fake, or like some people mentioned, just made some of them himself. your level is not that strong and you have weak attack. with the zodiac spear i killed him in a few mins. my guys were 61 63 72: 61 equipment:deathbringer 1h blade,agis shield. 63 equipment: 3rd strongest bow with parrallel arrows,minerva buster. 72: zodac spear. dragon armor and helm. that was my opinion of how your lvls are.

Also a great rendition of Battle At The Big Bridge. Not as good as the rock ones The Red Wings or The Black Mages do but still good. Always steal on his 4th and 5th stances, Both fights, the next time you fight him he's level 70. I loved how he had the swords you use in previous games. Too bad he'll never get my Wyrm Hero or Tournesol.
