Everybody who bashes the Nitro doesn't have all the facts, It's built on the Jeep Liberty Platform, GOOD. If you get the Manual Transmission it's the same transmission as the Jeep Wrangler Really GOOD. A dealership near my house got a lot of snow 2 winters ago. I watched them tow all the Dodge Rams out of the back lot with Nitros and Wranglers. Not lying at all it was hilarious to watch.
dodge nitro is basically a cheap copy cat of a Chevy Blazer, I used to own one, four door, 4x4 and she was perfect. this however, seems underpowered, lower suspension, and like everybody else is saying, is built more for snow on teh roads than a mud hole.
First off, let's get this straight. That's no real 4X4. It's got an ELECTRONIC transfer case without selectable gears. The only option is a PUSH BUTTON '4 Low'. And don't get me started on "Jeep" Liberties. The last real Jeeps were the WJ (second generation Grand Cherokee) and TJ (second generation Wrangler, descendent of the CJ models). Mopar has really fell off and these lame crossovers DO NOT belong off road. They're only good for some traction in the winter.
idk my nitro does really good in the mud i went further than a 90s model toyota tacoma 4x4 with 2 inch lift and a ford ranger 4x4 witha 2 and a 2001 dodge 1500 4x4 sitting on 32s and a 4 inch lift and thats true i didnt get stuck till i bottomed out
who said that a "dodge nitro 4x4" not supposed to be offroad. this 4x4 is almost the same as a 2006 jeep liberty 4x4. also the 2007 and 2008 dodge nitro's are better
my dad has an 08, i think r/t model and even though it's a 4x4, i dont think it's made for stuff like this. it's more for going in stormy snowy weather or getting stuck on detours. not like a jeep. just look at the body kit on the r/t not enough ground clearance
i agree with some of these other people how thats not really muddin but i gotta give you credit hittin some of them bumps in shit in a brand new stock nitro is pretty cool
Is it just me, or was everyone else waiting for him to drive in the fucking puddle that was in the center of the screen. You know the one he was driving around...Twice
It by no means is made for offroading. This car sucks to say the least. Endless problems and horrible in town gas mileage. If I could get rid of it I would for what I am into it.
My wife and own an 07' R/T model and its been a great vehicle. She loves it and its been very reliable. But then, we don't beat the shit out of it like this either. Seams to me you made an impulse purchase and didn't research before you bought it. Or, maybe you just got a lemon. It happens now and then.
It isn't made for off-roading, as you might know. No skid plates, not enough ground clearance, independant front suspension (even though most jeeps have this).... approach and departure angles aren't optimal, because most people don't take their vehicles off-road. Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten very good reviews. Fuel economy, interior quality, and weight is what has hurt the Nitro.
Wow, stick to wal mart parking lots in an inch of snow with that thing. That little grind means STREET VEHICLE ONLY.Nitro's will be discontinued after this model year. Another failure from an american manufacterer.
my ass street only, the nitro will out preform anny standered forin car on and offroad and the nitro will not be discontinued for a long piriond of time ,plus this is a 2007 dodge nitro there is a 2008 modle alredy.
its a generation. usually every 4-5 years. the nitro will be built until this time runs out then dodge will replace it with another hunk of crap. Its junk dude, they arent even trail rated and theyre getting killed in the sales market by the nissan murano and the toyota rav4.
Its only a piece of crap to people like you because you cant afford a real car, or any car for that matter. We have 5 Chrysler vehicles in our driveway. 2 2001's, 2 2007's and 1 2008. They were all designed and built by Americans. If you were a real American you would buy American made products too. Maybe you should move to Japan, there you only need a bike, maybe you could afford that? Or perhaps Iraq is more your speed, then you could bend over and kiss your ass goodbye.
That is, of course, after you thank the American soldiers who are giving their lives to defend your freedom. Americans should drive American cars. Its that simple. It is vital to our economy. So, before you complain about American made cars, just think where you would be if everyone bought foreign cars. That would mean an awful lot of Americans would be out of work, and our economy would not be able to survive.
The military would suffer a severe blow, and equipment to support our brave American soldiers would be difficult to supply them with. So the next time you are WALKING down the street, and hear the roar of a good old American engine, you can thank them for contributing to the economy, and thus the military, that make it possible for you to walk down the street in the first place.
i hope thats a rental cause if you keep beating it like dat its not gonna last..

Hey I bottomed out in the very beginning of the video! Let me go to the very same spot and hit it going twice as fast!!
Christ sake if you bottomed out there before why hit it again? Put the nitro back on pavement where it belongs. . .unfortunately
