  • @JerryDohn or indigo renderer

  • Thumbs up for this tutorial! Learned a lot from it!

  • my Sketchup is getting very slow. What can I do?

  • @JerryDohn Shaderlight is another great rendering plugin that you may want to check out...

  • This guy is the pride of the Sketch Up Tribe, really!

    Greetings from México D. F.

  • How do you add a light source in SketchUp 8? Let's say, for a desktop lamp.

  • @Vix847 To create light objects and render them, you would need to install any one of the Photorealistic lighting plugins for SketchUp (such as IDX Renditioner, SU Podium, Shaderlight, Vray, etc.).

  • With the roof on do the shadows act diff. inside

  • @GTAMAN561 Yes. Although I suppose it depends on whether the roof is set up to cast shadows. You can toggle on/off an entity's ability to cast shadows via the Entity Info window. The "Cast Shadows" setting applies to Face, Group, and Component entities. If you un-check that setting, you could still have the roof turned on so that it was visible, but the light would pass right through it, casting the same shadows as if it were invisible.

  • Thanks for the vid.......just what I was looking for.

  • The only person who 'thumbs-downed' this video must have done it by accident. :)

  • is there any free IDX & PODIUM installer to be download freely?tanks

  • @kelvinsatorre both of the rendering plugins you mentioned have free versions available. a limiting factor for the free versions is that the image size of the rendering is limited to 640px.

  • is there any way to add a light source? i looked around but i couldn't find anything

  • there are some lighting plugins that you can download and install for SketchUp. 'IDX Renditioner' is one of them. 'SU Podium' is another. You might try searching google for both of those programs.

  • but aren't those programs you run afterwords, to add in the effects?

i take it there isn't anything you can add into your toolbar to add in light, i guess it will have to do

  • IDX and Podium are rendering plugins for SketchUp. Once you install the plugins, you will have toolbars in SketchUp that let you add lights and create photorealistic renderings from directly within SketchUp - without having to use a whole separate program.

  • ohh, got it, thanks

    apparently im helpless AND clueless

  • you guys are great, thanx!

  • the location option is only in the pro version?
