@GreentoKind They sell gluten free bread its a matter of getting use to when your use to kraft peanut butter for 10 years then switch to only peanuts butter not artificial flavors and preservatives its disgusting keep eating it it becomes better and better then try kraft and it tastes like shit, thats just an example. There are plenty of foods you just need yo know which to choose even though you eat gluten its fine as long as you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and a healthy diet its great.
It's amazing how much better you feel when you cut down on the gluten. No bloated feelings, no more late night stomach issues or constipation. It's hard to cut it out completely and I don't beat myself up over it as I don't have coeliac disease, but I pity all those people stuffing their faces with bread every day, not having the first idea how it's affecting their body.
I also feel for the people living in all the random nothing towns of the UK/US who don't have the easy gluten free options.
From my experience living on gluten free diet is hard for young people, and nobody cares about that. If you are on gluten free diet you are not allowed to grab anything you fancy, you must check the labels, ask the restaurant manager about how they prepare food, plan your meals in advance, expalins others why you are different etc. I was exposed on gluten, becuse I from poor family, not becuse i love wheat. I am studing the subject and loking for others cures then striclty gluten free diet.
Is it any other cure from gluten free diet. Look around, eating out on gluten free diet is hardly possible. I dont like white bread anyway so it is not problem for me using gluten free products when I cook. But when I am busy or on the go I need eat outside, there is no gluten -free burgers or pasta anywhere. So how I can get my carbs during the lunch time.Living on gluten free diet is so hard. Please are there any other perspective for gluten sensitivity different then gluten-free diet.
I am from Italy, pasta and bread are the staples of our diet, we have a high incidence of celiac as well as gluten sensitivity. The good news for us is that it takes about 10 weeks for a patient to be diagnosed, and if found positive the government extends a monthly amount in order to support the quite expensive gluten free diet (about $160). In the USA average diagnosis takes 10 years and no support is offered by the insurance company nor the government. This is very discouraging.
There is not a pill for Celiac/Gluten so the pharmacology industries have to keep this decease out of the public light. Any person having any of those conditions mentioned on this video should go gluten free for three weeks and see if their condition improves. I suffered for 15 years: constipation, intestinal noises, depression (suicidal), rash, mouth ulcers, tooth enamel defect, and was displaying all signs of Alzheimer’s. I am back to 100%. Just keep an eye for hidden gluten.
I have an autoimmune disease, lymphocytic and collagenous colitis. I am ont bland diet with rice cereal. I have been ill for over three months, My kitchen is so gluten-free and waiting to test food. How do I get there? My MD has me on asacol currently. I have had the triple antibiotics, Xifaxin, Cipro, Flagyl, etc and I am still ill. I have shed 34 lbs very quick, dehydrated and malnourished. I have had a scope, and CAT scan. Someone, please help me, I am fading away!!!!!!
@bachinberry You must go on an alkaline diet aka candida diet, start juicing to get more raw nutrients, use cilantro and parsley which are great detoxifing herbs, , take multiviatmins, and stop taking antibiotics especially cipro! It is a black label antibotic and have of the antibiotics of the quinolone family have been recalled due to them being so toxic they use that for people with anthrax it is a drug of last resort!
Also take probiotics to build of the good stomache flora bc its been destroyed from all the antibiotic. watch out w/ things w/ flouride in them! Ive taken cipro so ive been through all of this first hand couldnt eat, joint issues stomache issues everything. still recovering but diet as i said works. look up flouroquinolone antibiotic toxicity on facebook they even have a support group.
This guy knows his stuff. I've known about the dangers of dairy and gluten for a while now and I avoid them like the plague. Every time I eat bread I notice my acne comes back and my digestion stops. I hope this message can spread. This video and the one on dairy are worth six months of visits to a dermatologist and the drugs they make you pop like candy! People do not realize that eating pasta/gluten, is like eating a piece of paper, there's no nutrient/enzymes, which makes it undegestible
if you are O positive or O negative blood..... avoid all grains!! O blood type.. esp neg.... is the caveman blood.. ie eat meat and organic/natural grains..... ie wild rice, etc.
I am a bit confused, can you have dairy while on a gluten free diet? I have many symptoms of celiac as well as some other health complications. I have had severe OCD since I was born practically. I also have a skin condition, keratosis pilaris. I know they say certain skin conditions will go away on a gluten free diet as well. I am going to be tested for celiac soon. I am vegetarian, and a lot of my meals include whole wheat pasta. Who knew it could be making me sick. So can you have dairy?
@RonAbr3030 Thank you so much for the confirmation. I need to start a gluten free diet but I was afraid I would have to cut out dairy too. Eventually I may, but I am a vegetarian and it would be very difficult to go vegan and gluten free at the same time. I will take it slow. Thanks!
@Cortneeyyy you can be gluten free and vegan.. if you are not allergic to corn or potatoes.... there is great flours available... and there is Quinoa. makes great pasta.. much better than brown rice.
@LadyArtemis62 Are you vegan? Since I am about to start the journey of gluten free I don't want to jump straight into being vegan. I have been vegetarian for a few years now so thats no problem. But I eat a lot of whole wheat pasta right now because I don't eat meat. I was afraid to go vegan at the same time because that is two drastic changes. I need to go gluten free first, and then consider vegan. Is quinoa expensive?
@SIIKAP1 I don't eat meat. I am already vegetarian. I am considering going vegan which cuts out dairy. If you research it some you will see that vegetarian and vegan diets are much healthier than a meat based diet and have lower rates of cancer and heart disease etc. And on top of all that, it is better for the environment and most importantly, the animals. I appreciate the concern.
Do you mention excitotoxins, that these are part of the gluten family? Have u seen the vid excitotoxins, the taste that kills? I dont know if they mention the connection on the set yet, havent finished yet, but as I was struggling very much, there was a woman nearby who turned out to be gluten intollerent and she was about 65 yr old. When a child she nearly died of it, and somehow the docs figured it out. She told me, that you much get off all natual flavors ;eat nothing unles says gluten free
I thought I had celiacs, turned out all the tests came back negative. The specialist told me that I was fine and told me to start eating gluten again, which I refused to do. I have been 1,5 years without gluten or dairy and feel amazing.
Before the diet change I ate what I thought was healthy, whole grain everything and gym 5x /week. I feel so much better now than ever before in my life. However, most people in the western world don't go a day without either so everything thinks I'm dumb
I progressively became gluten intolerant, wanna know why. It's because all this crap we eat is mass produced, cross polinated and genetically modified in North America. I heard a story of some celiac that traveled to France, she ate a piece of bread and was fine. The wheat/barley companies don't care about your health they care about how much money they make. Because of them I can't drink fucking beer any more.
I just spent four weeks with no wheat, and I definitely felt better. I ate one wheat tortilla yesterday, and the joint inflammation is back. I think this is onto something.
The noise in my intestines did not let me sleep, the depression will get to the thought of suicide, lack of energy and irregularity was a daily affair. I had to figure it out myself after three gastroenterologist failed to diagnose it.
Based on my experience I believe a lot of people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s are probably in a later stage of celiac. I got to the point that I could not multiply 6X8=48. I got relieved of 13 medical problems once I started a gluten free diet.
I went gluten free a year ago. I had suicidal depression, paranoia, psychosis, anxiety, joint pain, IBS and chronic fatigue. Had it since I was about 7 years old. All went away after removing gluten, also little food problems like dairy, eggs, and soy. Gluten can change your WHOLE world. When I eat it accidentally, I go back into a dark world of visual hallucinations, depression, extreme anxiety and wanting to commit suicide.
i know excatley where your coming from with the suicidal thoughts, depression is definatley triggered somehow by gluten if i accidently eat gluten i can tell by the way i shift into a real negative dark way of thinking, i also belived for years i was mentally unstable which totally changed once the gluten was removed, corn also has an effect on your behaviour it makes me angry irritable and spitefull once i cut out gluten diary, corn, maize, and soya soon followed.
joint aches, stomach aches, dizziness, malnourished, light headed, and the list goes on. Thing is ive been to the docs and hospitals, they ran tests and hav'nt explained zilch.
If anything they left me more confused then i had originally been.
Been evaluating myself lately and i truly believe that gluten is the culprit. Starting from today i'm going 100% gluten free. Will come back and post here to let you guys know how it works out. Hopefully i have found the solution! :)
im 21 years of age. ive been bloated for a long time, but not overwheight. I feel sick after eating foods like pizza, cereals, pastas, breads etc etc, often wake up during sleep, with what i can only describe as 'constipated diarrhea'!!! it used to be less frequent in my teens. maybe once a month if even, though i remember feeling discomfort after eating.
Lately been feeling all sorts of strange ailments that docs cant explain, fatigue, migraines, diarrhea, tingling in feet, random pains,CONT'D
wheat flour is consumed in large quantities in the west, apparently grasses and grains where introduced into the diet only 12,000 years ago, and humanity as a whole is still trying to assimulate this grain into our diets as modern humans we are not genetically adapted to this diet, before this we would of lived of berries nuts and plant foods, this would explain why MILLIONS people suffer and dont know why..............
all what this guy says is true its such a shame more doctors dont learn a bit more about gluten and the wide range of complications it causes in the body, i use to eat any thing and everything and never for one minute considered that the food i was eating was the root cause of all my problems after all WHY WOULD YOU, i live now on water, vegetables, fruit, rice, meat, fish, nuts, herbs, spices, and thats as far as it goes.
when you finally come to terms with this LIFE LONG ILLNESS you must make radical dietry changes, its taken me nearly 4 years to battle and come to terms with the fact that i no longer eat for the enjoyment of food so you can kiss goodbye to nice meals out take aways and eating on the go, food must be prepared in advanced to stop you from haveing a set back, but one thing is for sure you will look and feel like a new person people will ask you what your secret is and you will love the new you
@urbanax8 I know just what you mean ..gluten is an addictive drug for me one that I still occasionally 'relapse' on but they are getting fewer and farther between.
@urbanax8 I know just what you mean ..gluten is an addictive drug for me one that I still occasionally 'relapse' on but they are getting fewer and farther between.
gluten is hiden in foods, you must elminate the obvious wheat products, like breads, pastas, cereals, cakes, pastries, pies, then the processed foods like sausage, cold meats, pizzas, ready made meals tinned food and packet foods, then theirs the hidden stuff like vinegar, gravey, sauces, pickels, soy sauce, and then tootpaste medicines and food additives, your diet will never be the same again and you must start to view food not as a treat but more as what you need to nourish your body
no one belives the damage gluten does, I DO, i learnt first hand after nearly 10 years of mis diagnoses from a range of dumb doctors, i suffered with everything tiredness, lack of energy, headaches, migrains, serious heartburn, stomach bloating, back pain, shoulder pain,a poxcy rash that was constanly called eczma (dermetitis herpetiformis)depression, sucidal thoughts, in the end i diagnosed myself and have been gluten free for 4 years now and i feel like im finally alive and enjoying my life
@urbanax8 - I'm a 25 year old male who has been very athletic and loves pushing my body to it's limits. However, I have been plagued of headaches my entire life along with back, shoulder, knee, elbow pain that is getting worse as I age. Your above symptoms made my jaw just drop because I literally have each and every sign and symptom you described. How long did it take for you to notice a change while being on your Gluten free diet? Also, how long did it take for ALL signs and symptoms 2 subside?
Its hard to believe that Rye, Barley and Wheat is bad for you cause it contains gluten, so???, when is it bad??!!, after those i just mention has been processed?, I don't get it.
Eat Rice People! And consume vitamin c from cantaloupe and organic blueberries as it lowers inflammation caused by gluten. Don't take vitamin c supplements they are made from corn and only contain ascorbic acid which is the outer layer of vitamin c. Do this and consume pumpkin seeds you will feel quite awesome! O yea and eat leafy greens! damn its a good life
I was told by my doctor to eat more gwhole grains..... well I did and now I am in bed with a heat pad with severe pains and other unmentionables and trying to work with the pain..... after researching abd pain and bloating I am going to try and go gluten free. I was dx back in 1992 with IBS and now having eaten whole grains like pastas and bread I feel horrible! Guess ill see in a month if gluten is the cause of my pain. Thanks for the video!
Gluten is one of the mainstays in a meatless diet. Millions of Buddhists use it and so to millions of Seventh Day Adventists. Gluten is what's left after washing away the worthless starch in flour. The "gluten-free" crap is another marketing tool. A few people are indeed sensitive to gluten, but only a few, not widespread like we are told.
… In Civilized Cities, citizens are nourished by Nutritionists. In Landlord Slums, tenants are fed by food merchants.
… So why don’t Mark Hyman and other doctors promote the formation of Consumer-Based Economies that will build Ideal Civilized Cities?
… Maybe they don’t know. So someone should tell them to view the YouTube videos " The Revolutionary ConsumerCard Article” and "The Great Pyramid Why Was It Built”.
… They might be grateful, and include the suggestion in their videos.
@maqsad1 It's not that oats in their pure form contain gluten, it's that almost all oats are processed alongside other grains, contaminating them with gluten. There are a few brands however that process oats in an entirely gluten free facility.
@yogaloft1 I agree. However since I do not have full blown celiac disease but suspect I am gluten intolerant then in my case those microscopic amounts of gluten in oatmeal probably will not matter much.
@maqsad1 There are however some medical professionals who believe oats contain gluten, although this is not found to be the general consensus. It's a common misconception that pure oats contain gluten.
What is the prevalance of gulten problems in China and other areas of Asia ?? They use wheat but they never bake it like bread , they steam it or boil it in the form of dumplings and noodles . could it be the baking process or the combination with yeast that is the problem??
This is true. I have been sick for years. I have had to go GRAIN FREE because traditional GF was no where enough for me to start healing. I hope that this is just the start of my road back.
I know from personal life history what this man is saying is quite true. He knows, and I figured that out for myself plus heaps of research. He is on the ball and a health saviour.
I know from personal life history what this man is saying is quite true. He knows, and I figured that out for myself plus heaps of research. He is on the ball and a health saviour.
This is all true. I was never diagnosed with Celiac disease, but when in India, switched over to an almost entirely gluten free diet. I had been plagued by indigestion, knee pain, and fatigue for many months prior-- but had just accepted it as "normal." This all went away. Later, as a research assistant at Brown University, I found that most people CANNOT digest gluten, as it's only in the last 5,000 years (v. recent in human evo.) that we've started to eat bread.
This is all true, people. My brother suffered increasingly poor health for years and thankfully became anemic, because then they finally dug deep and figured out he was celiac. By that point he was unable to absorb ANY nutrition, because his immune system had completely destroyed the villi in his small intestine. For most people, this is completely painless, so it silently, slowly and painlessly kills you. I wish it weren't true because I love bread, but I'm sorry people---it very much is.
@li0blf0 Same thing happened to me. Although, I stopped eating everything because NOTHING was satisfying my hunger. Through two years of trial and error, I finally have figured out I have Celiac's disease and also am allergic to cow's milk dairy products and eggs. When I was at my sickest, they just wanted to drug me up. My brother has autism, and my parents still feed him gluten and junk food regardless of his disease. They are too stupid to figure out that they're slowly killing my brother.
I have to tell you...I was an Acutane user(acne medicine) for cystic acne. Since then my acne has calmed down, BUT...I have experimented for years all sorts of things to find out why I was still getting cystic bumps on my face here and there. Recently, I went on a diet rich in oatmeal and wheat bread and broke out HORRIBLY. There was a new cystic bump daily. I now minimized all that wheat and it's clearing up like a dream, and apparently from this video, it'll do more good than I thought.
Lots of things in bread can kill you besides gluten. Gluten is pretty awful but the nutrient inhibitors in most or all grains are the things you should be really worried about.
thanks for this video, i cut out gluten 5 years ago cos was constantly sick and very tired all the time feel fantastic since , but if i accidently consume something with wheat or gluten all the old symptoms come back, eating out is a nightmare
@pocketsofsweets you have Celiac disease, I think. Better to stay away from gluten!
Gluten is not that good even for people who don't have Celiac disease. Rice, quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat are some nutritious grains which are gluten free
Nice Video I am guessing, you have that honest look and appear to know what you are talking about. How about a list of gluten products? I eat quaker oats every morning. Is this one of them?
Capitalism is the final chapter in historic evolution of THE TYRANNY OF PRIVATE PROPERTY RELATIONSHIP of alienation, exploitation and suffering of humanity, a Market mechanism where minority interest is the NEGATION OF OUR COMMON HUMANITY IN COOPERATION and HARMONY. We shall overcome the structure of minority power and oppression and reclaim our planet for a world of cooperation for our common neeand well being, expressing our energetic creative divinity in freedom of being.
Oats do not naturally contain gluten. Its the possible cross-contamination from wheat, rye or barley. Be careful of what oats you eat, try Gluten Free Oats.
I'm wondering... should we be careful when cutting out gluten? Cutting out a food for as long as that would surely mean that when we reintroduce it to our diet we feel ill, simply because we're not used to it any more? I believe that cutting out dairy for a few weeks, or even completely, as you've somtimes suggested, is a bad idea, as your body stops producing the enzymes needed to break it down (it thinks it doesn't need them any more) and you become intolerant. Same with gluten?
@LivingTheZoeLife uhh.. no lol. See he is a doctor, and knows how our body works (and I know a little bit) but that is not the case. It's like cutting out poison (for those that are sensitive) for a few weeks... how could it be bad?
@Radian1991 unlike Westerners, Asians get the majority of their calories from fish and vegetables. Lifestyle activity, activeness and source of food play a huge role in health. Also, there have been negative affects in the Asian community. For example, the Okinowans vs the other Japanese. There is a huge difference in stature and overall health, It is very subjective and depends on each of the cultures lifestyle but gluten is not good for any reason. Try taking out all grains, dairy and legumes.
I'm switching to a paleolistic eating lifestyle.I'm guessing that this video was made after the dairy video, being that the Doc was indeed recommending whole grains?
of course oats and spelt do contain gluten!! check on the packets or net!!! the only gluten free grains r: quinoa, millet, buckwheat, brown rice and corn!!
So what do you eat then? What is left?

The damage to the villa also affects the production of the enzyme to digest lactose.

Lately been feeling all sorts of strange ailments that docs cant explain, fatigue, migraines, diarrhea, tingling in feet, random pains,CONT'D

wheat flour is consumed in large quantities in the west, apparently grasses and grains where introduced into the diet only 12,000 years ago, and humanity as a whole is still trying to assimulate this grain into our diets as modern humans we are not genetically adapted to this diet, before this we would of lived of berries nuts and plant foods, this would explain why MILLIONS people suffer and dont know why..............

all what this guy says is true its such a shame more doctors dont learn a bit more about gluten and the wide range of complications it causes in the body, i use to eat any thing and everything and never for one minute considered that the food i was eating was the root cause of all my problems after all WHY WOULD YOU, i live now on water, vegetables, fruit, rice, meat, fish, nuts, herbs, spices, and thats as far as it goes.

when you finally come to terms with this LIFE LONG ILLNESS you must make radical dietry changes, its taken me nearly 4 years to battle and come to terms with the fact that i no longer eat for the enjoyment of food so you can kiss goodbye to nice meals out take aways and eating on the go, food must be prepared in advanced to stop you from haveing a set back, but one thing is for sure you will look and feel like a new person people will ask you what your secret is and you will love the new you

gluten is hiden in foods, you must elminate the obvious wheat products, like breads, pastas, cereals, cakes, pastries, pies, then the processed foods like sausage, cold meats, pizzas, ready made meals tinned food and packet foods, then theirs the hidden stuff like vinegar, gravey, sauces, pickels, soy sauce, and then tootpaste medicines and food additives, your diet will never be the same again and you must start to view food not as a treat but more as what you need to nourish your body

no one belives the damage gluten does, I DO, i learnt first hand after nearly 10 years of mis diagnoses from a range of dumb doctors, i suffered with everything tiredness, lack of energy, headaches, migrains, serious heartburn, stomach bloating, back pain, shoulder pain,a poxcy rash that was constanly called eczma (dermetitis herpetiformis)depression, sucidal thoughts, in the end i diagnosed myself and have been gluten free for 4 years now and i feel like im finally alive and enjoying my life

Oats have gluten too?
maqsad1 8 months ago
@maqsad1 It's not that oats in their pure form contain gluten, it's that almost all oats are processed alongside other grains, contaminating them with gluten. There are a few brands however that process oats in an entirely gluten free facility.
yogaloft1 6 months ago
@yogaloft1 I agree. However since I do not have full blown celiac disease but suspect I am gluten intolerant then in my case those microscopic amounts of gluten in oatmeal probably will not matter much.
maqsad1 6 months ago
@maqsad1 There are however some medical professionals who believe oats contain gluten, although this is not found to be the general consensus. It's a common misconception that pure oats contain gluten.

What is the prevalance of gulten problems in China and other areas of Asia ?? They use wheat but they never bake it like bread , they steam it or boil it in the form of dumplings and noodles . could it be the baking process or the combination with yeast that is the problem??

This is all true. I was never diagnosed with Celiac disease, but when in India, switched over to an almost entirely gluten free diet. I had been plagued by indigestion, knee pain, and fatigue for many months prior-- but had just accepted it as "normal." This all went away. Later, as a research assistant at Brown University, I found that most people CANNOT digest gluten, as it's only in the last 5,000 years (v. recent in human evo.) that we've started to eat bread.

So shit that was normally relatively healthy for you is now gonna kill your ass.... Fuckin great.
joegt123 1 year ago
This is all true, people. My brother suffered increasingly poor health for years and thankfully became anemic, because then they finally dug deep and figured out he was celiac. By that point he was unable to absorb ANY nutrition, because his immune system had completely destroyed the villi in his small intestine. For most people, this is completely painless, so it silently, slowly and painlessly kills you. I wish it weren't true because I love bread, but I'm sorry people---it very much is.
li0blf0 1 year ago 26

Gluten is pretty awful but the nutrient inhibitors in most or all grains are the things you should be really worried about.

thanks for this video, i cut out gluten 5 years ago cos was constantly sick and very tired all the time feel fantastic since , but if i accidently consume something with wheat or gluten all the old symptoms come back, eating out is a nightmare
pocketsofsweets 1 year ago
@pocketsofsweets you have Celiac disease, I think. Better to stay away from gluten!
Gluten is not that good even for people who don't have Celiac disease. Rice, quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat are some nutritious grains which are gluten free
Good luck on your path to good health!

@sk0616 all of those NON-glutten containing grains are still detrimental to gut health and flora.

Oats do not naturally contain gluten. Its the possible cross-contamination from wheat, rye or barley. Be careful of what oats you eat, try Gluten Free Oats.
JesusACruz64 1 year ago
I'm wondering... should we be careful when cutting out gluten? Cutting out a food for as long as that would surely mean that when we reintroduce it to our diet we feel ill, simply because we're not used to it any more? I believe that cutting out dairy for a few weeks, or even completely, as you've somtimes suggested, is a bad idea, as your body stops producing the enzymes needed to break it down (it thinks it doesn't need them any more) and you become intolerant. Same with gluten?
LivingTheZoeLife 1 year ago
@LivingTheZoeLife uhh.. no lol. See he is a doctor, and knows how our body works (and I know a little bit) but that is not the case. It's like cutting out poison (for those that are sensitive) for a few weeks... how could it be bad?

So this means that seitan is not good for you?
Radian1991 1 year ago
@Radian1991 Yes. It means that.
futoncat 1 year ago
@futoncat Thanks, but I kind of disagree with Dr.Hyman.People of Asia has been using wheat gluten/seitan for thousands of years.
Radian1991 1 year ago
@Radian1991 unlike Westerners, Asians get the majority of their calories from fish and vegetables. Lifestyle activity, activeness and source of food play a huge role in health. Also, there have been negative affects in the Asian community. For example, the Okinowans vs the other Japanese. There is a huge difference in stature and overall health, It is very subjective and depends on each of the cultures lifestyle but gluten is not good for any reason. Try taking out all grains, dairy and legumes.
