Cool... what pedal is he using? If I recall well the SH100 doesn't have much gain... want to know cause I'm considering the SE100 and this one is tempting too. Thanks.
In some shows you have to find a way to turn down the volume coming out of your company's booth. Sometimes they send out the sound via headphones, sometimes they have rooms for something like 50 people (think of it as a small club), and in this case they have a room full of amps with the player in it. I don't know if it's gay or not, it's just how it is these days so that the building is not over a million dB and you can clearly hear what you want to hear, not everything else.
i lvoe the transparent man effect yuo got going on here. haha god this guitarist floors me everytime i hear him. his note selection and phrasing is jsut out of this world. and that tapping thing with his middle finger and ring is so tough. amazing.
Yes, I was there. It's a sound proof booth he's playing in, and the cab is mic'd and sent to speakers (at a lower volume) project outside the box. The door is open, so you can go inside and hear directly if you want. Very cool.
WTF? Is Reb inside of a glass box?!?!? When they say "booth" I thought they mean...like a kiosk or 3 walls...not a fucking capsule! Was anyone there? Could you actually talk to him?
If you had to noodle around on a guitar for a while dont you think you'd probably play some licks you grew up playing, or like to play to show that you're influenced by those guys too? Rebs probably tired of playing his own stuff
lol you must have not listened to early winger stuff then. sure there's some vai evh reminescent licks, they were all from the 80's who didnt share each other's licks. But reb has a really unique tapping style, his runs sound completely different from vai and evh
Reb is a horribly underrated guitarist! And he's funny as hell! Check out his website and read some of his blogs...they'll have you laughing in no time! REB ROCKS!!!
I grew up not to far from good ole Reb.........He still plays locally here in pittsburgh when he's not touring....If you think he is funny on his web site you should see how funny he is with a couple of beers in him.
That descending diminished scale he was playing he uses in his solo spots now with Whitesnake. Talk about beautiful.

:58-1:03 is the best...sweet harmonics thing followed by a nice fast pent lick

@eveguitars The gay part is that the audience is all male.

Reb is a great player but I heard a lot of Vai and EVH licks in there. Actually I think all of it was Vai and EVH licks.
