I really don't get it. It was a nice overtake, he had plenty of time and space to get back on his lane and he didn't squeeze you, and he even got enough time to signal his maneuver . This is the drawback of having too many motorways in your country, people forget how to drive properly and clog up the secondary roads.

Reminds you that you must be patient and choose the right time and place to overtake, let people back in once they overtake and slow down if there is someone overtaking toward you, frustrating to do but necessary.

Coming back to Car that was overtaking You, a Renault Clio, the person driving it has to build up speed from long distance to overtake any car, and when it did its very hard to stop, because its breaks are not designed for stopping fast from that speed. Irish drivers do this all the time; another thing they do is pass you and almost clip the front of your car by not allowing enough room if they think youre going too slow; in Loughrea in 2008 is saw a lady actually drive onto the sidewalk because she didnt have enough room to make a turn; be careful when driving in Ireland : )

I have overtaken 2 cars at 130mph whilst a lorrie was heading towards me missing me by inches. It was a mistake and totally foolish but man was it was such a fucking awesome feeling after having pulled off such a badass move!!!!

Hold on a minute. Why was the car with the camera only doing 50mph? This road is a National Speed Limit road (60mph), no? The road conditions are good, traffic is light and visibility is unrestricted. If DriveHelpGetmethere were on their test they would fail because, and I quote from the UK's Driving Examiner's Fault Sheet, he/she "Makes no attempt to achieve maximum speeds for the road when safe to do so". If the OP had been doing the correct speed this situation could have been avoided.
@jwggy tut tut check your highway code, there are restrictions for instance if your pulling a trailer your restricted to 50 mph! besides theres been people killed on that road by reckless drivers like this R driver. I agree; that guy took a quite a gamble there, and the Nissan thing coming the other looked to be slowing down to avoid an accident. Sometimes the only thing we can do is to slow down for overtaking motors either side to stop them from killing themselves and other motorists.
@Drivingyarns She was a restricted driver which we have in N.I aswell which means she has to stay below speed limit of 45mph for 1 year after passing test, although to be honest legal limit of 45 mph is impractible & dangerous at times when changing lanes on motorways
