  • I believe the mosque was privately owned and the government buildings are owned by the people.

  • @matthewtaylorbrown really so you can move in and do what ever you want huh?

  • @Winterfairy777 It is America, we offer freedom of religion. So, yes if it is private property, as long as one is not breaking the law. If we crack down. Public property is another matter and is covered under our right to assemble. I abject to the behaviors of both the Tea Party and the Occupiers, but they should be able to protest within reason. They should not be able to disrupt commercial, private, or government practices. Most cities require permits for assembly, no permit, out you go.

  • @matthewtaylorbrown The way they behave is not something you can tolerate. Lets be honest. This is not about demonstrating and if you are honest you know it. If they would only demonstrate and do not attack people police and destroy stuff they would not have a problem. And noone would have a problem. But that is not what they are doing at all.

  • @Winterfairy777 There was a similar situation with the Tea Party folks. Several men surrounded a U.S. Congressman (black) as he walked from one building to another, he was spat upon by one of the men. There were racial signs as well. This, of course, was not the behavior of the entire Tea Party. I'm in San Francisco and saw that the street people jumped on the bandwagon on Market Street. Many of them are mentally ill, of course that doesn't explain all the bad behavior. I was agreeing with you.

  • @matthewtaylorbrown by the way the black guy you are talking about was not spit on. that did came out later. and i have never seen a sigh that was racial at all.

  • @Winterfairy777 They kept playing the scene over and over on MSNBC (The liberal news). There was a whole night of discussion on it the event. Bill Maher, John Stewart, and Steven Colbert showed the same clip on the stairs of a government building.
