  • Tasted GREAT!!! I swear it beats my frozen swad dish and restaurant made in india

  • You know what you ppl should start a restaurant... :D

  • I used to love indian food but cannot eat it anymore because im lactose intolerent - does anyone know of a vegan (or lactose free) version of this recipe??

  • Very good, but the 1 cup water thinned it down excessively.

Also 500g panir for 4 people?

That's quite a lot unless you aren't eating anything else...

  • You should at least end your videos with a snapshot of the food.

No one saw how the finished dish looked like even.

  • hey i got it "Heavy Whipping Cream"....thanks a lot...Happy Cooking :)

  • @SuperLifelearner : Yaayyy! :)

  • which" heavy whipping cream " to use?m confused...plz giv exact name...so it wil b easy to search..m in United States...And thanks a lot for recipes.....m njoying cooking as well as eating..!! :)

  • @SuperLifelearner : It is usually in a carton or a bottle in the dairy section next to milk and it says "Heavy Whipping Cream"

  • Good

  • I love this recipe and it tastes amazing! The fact that you dwelled on the fact it was 'calorie' rich and suggested loads of ways to improve it was unecessary though to be honest. Make delicious food and enjoy it. As long as it's in moderation there's no need to obsess over how rich in fat and calories it is, that just takes away from the enjoyment of tucking in to good food!

  • is this tasty????????????????

  • I will get heart disease eating this. Paneer is very fattening!

  • Can i use "I can't believe it's not butter" and keep 4 tbsp instead of just regular butter?

  • Would this freeze well?

  • @pisceschick99 You don't need to freeze it. All Indian food stays good for at least 2-3 days. I have stored mine for 4 days before and it was SOOO good because the chicken had soaked up a lot of flavor in my butter chicken. Lol.

  • It was quick & easy to make and the taste was great! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

  • What kind of oil?

  • @beingisbecoming4 : We use Canola Oil for most of our cooking. Vegetable Oil is another good option.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry omg!!!!! made it just now........dis is one of the best dish i'v ever made!!!!!!!!! love it!! my mom is so happy with me.

    Thank you so much :) :) :) :)

  • @niHaRikAana : Glad you loved it :)

  • What kind of butter do u use?

  • @Shovelware : Salted or unsalted - bot work just as well. :)

  • i love Panner dishes

  • Where's manjula at?

  • is this dish high in fat and calories?

  • How do you know when the butter has seperated?

  • @treading01 : There will be a fine line of fat floating at the edge around the masala.

  • is this healthy.

  • Can we use powdered ginger and fresh garlic? I haven't got any ginger or garlic paste - is there an appropriate substitute?

  • @pianoister yes, i do i like this and it is great, i also add half of tea spoon of kardamom powder and cumin powder (found this in some other bp recipe) ..... and some freshly squeezed lemon at the end

  • Hi, dont we have to fry the paneer??

  • @deep5165

You can fry the paneer if you prefer but it works perfectly well without frying in this recipe (saves a step) :).

  • wow hot women

  • this is what's for dinner tonight !

  • Proof that not all vegetarian food is automatically healthy.

This does look wonderful. I shall have to hunt down some paneer.

  • Thank you very much.I tried it with coconut milk & the taste was very good.My husband like it too. U both are really nice & doing very well. I love puddings & gateux. can you teach us how to make them from show Me the curry? I want to know what is castor sugar? can we make gatuex from normal sugar?mai hindi bhi bol sakthi hu. Aaap donon ko bahuth shukriya.

  • hi, I'm Rangika from Srilanka. I really like u both & ur recepes too. Can I use coconut thick milk instead of heavvy cream? Plz reply me.one thing I want to know . What is cilantro & hing powder mean? Thanks for ur great recepes.

  • hi, I'm Rangika from Srilanka. I really like u both & ur recepes too. Can I use coconut thick milk instead of heavvy cream? Plz reply me.one thing I want to know . What is cilantro & hing powder mean? Thanks for ur great recepes.

  • @prangika21 : Yes, you can use Coconut Milk, it will change the flavor of the gravy but it will still be great :)

Cilantro is known as Coriander in English, Dhaniya in Hindi and Kotthamalli ilai in Tamil.

Hing is in Hindi and is known as Asafoetida in English, Perungayam in Tamil.

    Hope that helps :)

  • 1 question...can we use tofu instead of paneer????

  • @anjukuttyy

Yes. The texture and taste will be different but it will still be good. You may want to saute the tofu for a bit so that it holds shape.

  • we just tried this recipe out today...nd it came out to be great!! nd it only took us 20 mins to make it :)

thank uu sooooo muchhh...i love u guys :)

  • Can you mention what you would eat your finished dishes with? Maybe you would eat it accompanied with rice or naan?

  • @addelaney

As a general rule, you can eat any gravy dish with rice or chapati/naan. Dry dishes are eaten with chapati or naan.

  • Thanks :)

  • Could I just replace the paneer with some vegetables that have been pre-boiled? Seems healthier to have cauliflower, carrots and peas than cheese!

  • @msbunnypaws

Absolutely! The cooking time will be different depending on which vegetables you use.

  • Greetings, we love Indian food, you guys should come to Venezuela, and open Indian restaurant, you will get a looot of money, in a city call LECHERIA (MOST OF ALL PPL WHO LIVES THERE ARE RICH) AND LIKE TO TASTE ALL FOOD, WE LOVE your FOOD. That’s a great business!! Trust me

  • which cream u used plz can u tll me ...can v use mayonise cream

  • @foziyasweetgirl123

No, mayo is not the right kind of cream. We use heavy whipping cream (also known as heavy cream or double cream).

  • What is puprica?? where can i get it? will it taste good without adding puprica??

  • @balajiraghav

"Paprika" is dried red bell pepper (capsicum). It is added for color with the dish getting too spicy. You can leave it out if you like.

  • this peoples help moms to get rid of scolding from their family

  • Oh My God.....unbelievable cooking skills....

Very nicely done ladies.....very nicely done!!!!

Do you know any Indian ladies who would trade some cooking skills for citizenship?........

    Keep on cooking!!!!!!

  • what is Paneer?

  • @lilD84june its cottage cheese.....

  • @lilD84june : It is Indian Cottage Cheese. You can make it at home - pl. check out our website and search for "Paneer" or you can check our YouTube Channel. You can also get it at Indian Grocery stores.

The Cottage Cheese that you get at the grocery store will not work for this recipe.

  • paneer is made from milk and tastes very good

  • thank you

  • Do i need to fry panner ?

  • @desigujjugirl : You really don't have to fry the paneer, but you can if you want to.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry

    thanks

  • good job

  • yes make the pregnant lady hungry

  • @cutieface2007: Sorry :(

  • don't we use kastoori methi in the traditional paneer makhnai?

  • Hi What is replacement for cream?

  • agreed with dediablo... generally when making butter chicken or butter Paneer (cheese) Onion should not be used..

  • @StickySlayer : Paneer is a cheese made from the milk fats. The great thing is that it does not melt when heated hence it retains it shape. It is available at all South Asian Grocery stores and a lot of Whole Food stores as well.

You can check out our videos on how to make it at home on the YouTube channel or on our website.

  • I am salivating after watching this, lol. I've never eaten Paneer and wonder if I can substitue the Paneer with Tofu instead. My favorite Tofu dish is made with chick peas (gabonzos), curry, garlic, onions & other spices, cooked in organic virgin coconut oil rather than butter or regular oils, steamed broccoli and/or carrots (or whatever veggies you prefer), and side dish of white or red Quinoa. Everything I cook is organic and very satisfying. Thank you for this marvelous recipe!! <3 AC

  • @AquarielCharm I have a friend from Sri Lanka that makes this dish with Tofu and it's absolutely mouth watering. Definitely try it!

  • mmmmmmm looks good!

  • I love you guys!!!!! I also really appreciate it when you reply to my comments, it makes me feel so special hahaha XD

  • @pinker90 : :)

  • What is a cup in ml

  • @A13AHL

    1 cup (8 fl ounces) = 237 ml

  • Hi,

What is a cup in milliliters?

  • hey girls . tnx for posting the vid.

please tell me if can we add a bit of onions when we are abt to fry ?

    tnx.

  • @smartanu18

We were following someone's recipe, but feel free to add onions if you like.

  • what's the difference between paprika and red chili powder ? Why use 2 types of chili ?

  • @HO1ySh33t

Paprika is made from dried and ground red bell pepper. It provides great color without the heat. Red chili powder is for the spiciness.

  • is paneer tofu?

  • @lalalalaland84

No, it is a type of homemade cheese. You can find it in Indian grocery stores or make it at home. Please see our "Homemade Paneer" video.

  • @lalalalaland84

    panner is cottage cheese

  • can we also add full cream milk instead of cream...............?

  • @vickybgp

Evaporated milk would be a better option but you may loose the richness of the dish.

  • IM HETAL IM MANUJA

  • can we not add the sugar

  • @1980malika

Its a personal preference. You can definitely leave it out. A small amount of sugar tends to balance the flavors.

  • nice recipe...

  • Hi! I love paneer and this is a great recipe to follow..one question though...

Can I substitute cream with yoghurt? From where I am from, cream are on the pricier side...:( Thanks!

  • @physiojesse

Well, if you use yogurt, it will not be butter paneer. Cream has a neutral taste whereas yogurt can be tart.

  • Dude make some Paneer from Scratch..PLease..Someone

  • Alternative and more simple Butter Paneer recipe:

    1. Marry an Indian woman.

    Done.

  • @geniusumistian Hmm.. I wouldn't say that. I am an Indian woman and I can't cook worth a lick. My boyfriend cooks for me. :D

  • why did you not fry the paneer first? does it not taste soggy? thanks great video

  • @merchant121 : No it does not taste soggy. The Frying helps hold shape but we used the store-bought paneer which does not need any help in that department :)

If you are using home made paneer, you might have to fry/saute a little so it does not fall apart in the gravy.

  • I'M SO HUNGRY NOW!

    *Subscribes*

  • thx duo. never knew makin butter panner was gonna be such a lovely n delicious experience.

  • Can canned tomato puree be used as a substitute? and for the cream, is there any substitute.. I have milk, but we hardly ever get cream in the house.

  • @LaLeLaLeLa

Yes, you can substitute canned tomato puree. This is a really rich dish so cream works the best. A good substitute may be evaporate milk but regular milk will be too thin.

  • how to fry paneer

  • is paneer need to fry. If so how?

  • @vp245

It is not required to fry the paneer but you can if you want. Paneer can be shallow fried in a skillet with 1-2 Tbsp of oil, or you can deep fry it.

  • Hi I cooked paneer masala followed your vedio. It was fantastic. That was my first time. very nice recipe

  • OOOOH I am subscribing RIGHT away!

  • 1 cup tomatoe-how many tomatoes (roma) is that?

  • @payaldshamdasani: 1 cup = 3-4 roma tomatoes

  • This is the best recipe...i dont even noe how to cook and this came out really good..thanks soo much for postin this

  • whats the better substitute for cream?- yoghurt, milk or coconutmilk?

  • The best would be Milk. You can use the other 2 but the taste would be a different but still good!

  • Hey why don't you use some better camera, contrast background, good mic system for better sound.

See when the camera is near to the stove your voice is clear then suddenly it lows when camera is back to its position. Its irritating. You will need to do something atleast to come close to vahchef. Good luck

  • Thanks for your feedback. This is one of our older videos. We have since acquired a HD camera and sound system. Hopefully, you'll get a chance to see some of our newer vids.

  • whats paneer

  • Homemade cheese (it doesn't melt when heated).

  • Oh ok thanks

  • it's like cottage cheese.

  • I use yogurt instead of cream...you have to temper it first though, if you just add the yogurt to the hot tomato mixture, it will curdle....it makes the recipe nice and creamy and you don't miss the heavy cream at all...

  • can you also add qasuri methi to this recipe?

  • If you want, you can dry roast just a Tbsp of the dry methi in a skillet until fragrant and then rub it between your palms and add it.

  • The best paneer dish ever.thanks,I just loved it!!!!

  • hi, nice recipe, i am going to cook this dish for the first time for a get together and want to get it totally right. my question is about the cream- what section in the grocery store do i find it? also, in the end you said that one could use milk instead of cream- is that any regular milk? Thanks!!!

  • Heavy whipping cream comes in a cardboard box, in the dairy case (next to half and half). Although you can use regular whole milk, for a party, we'd suggest using the cream.

  • Thank you VERY MUCH!!

  • This dish was a super hit!!!! :) It came out very nice. There's no leftover! Thanks again for the directions about the cream and of course the recipe itself!

  • i had a quick question. My friend who's a real neat cook, suggests first pan frying the paneer a little till they golden brownish and then putting them in the dish. Is that not a necessary step in butter paneer?

  • Pan frying the paneer is definitely an option but not necessary for this recipe.

  • No wonder the video advices not to eat this everyday LOL I really could eat this everyday! this was soooooo amazing!!!! soo good!! I ate it w/the spicy chicken curry recipe and they were so good together. Everyone at our party loved this dish. I'm so thankful to "show me the curry" b/c now I can cook great Indian dishes to my family (I'm moving to a small town and the closest Indian resturant is over an hour away -nobody has really tried Indian food. So I'm really excited that I can cook these)

  • Hi did u forget the salt? Thanks

  • You missed it, see at 2.09 mins.

  • This is what I order when I go to Indian restaurants! I'm a vegetarian and had no idea it was so.. fattening lol. Still, I'm going to make this at home now. Thanks for the recipe!

  • i tried ur recipe just now without cream it was superbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb thanks again keep posting great jobbbbbbbbb

  • Blah I thought this was vegan

  • read the title, it says vegetarian. obviously just find a substitute for cream. shake up some soy milk or coconut cream.

I'm guessing paneer is another word for tofu?

thanks alot girls. but as much as ive tried, i've really messed it up every time ive tried to make vegan makhani tofu. i'm a bit deterred from trying again. both times ive tried the outcome was very sour and unbearable to eat. ill try cutting down on the tomato and see if it makes a difference..

    hava gooden

  • Most people call paneer tofu, probably because from the looks of it it seems like it is, but it's not even similar. Panner is an un-aged cheese and it tastes pretty fantastic in any dish =)

  • no, paneer is homemade cottage cheese. :)

  • paneer is made from cow's milk, though, whereas tofu is from soy

so be careful when substituting tofu for it- it loses a lot of its flavour

  • does the taste change?

  • Not too much.

  • si there any way to make a healthier butter paneer? and by the way love your recipies

  • One way is to cut down the amount of cream and butter you use.

  • they are the best

  • Mmmmm! looks delicious!

  • After going through some criticizing comments here..would just wanna say appreciating someone costs nothing..the way few of them criticized them and their work i dont think they are so bad..you carry the right of criticizing a person only when you are better then that person and anuja and hetal are far more skilled and talented than us:)

  • yummmmmmmmmm:D

  • Good dish, however I would suggest people try a few alterations:

    1. Definitely add chopped onions at the start and saute until brown, then add tomatoes.

    2. Use fresh tomatoes, cook them well, and blend the mixture together in a blender (to get the nice flavor of the skin.)

    3. Add some fresh green chili and methi powder/leaves.

Basically, make the whole sauce fresh and then blend it. This dish without onions is seriously lacking in taste. No disrespect, just my personal taste.

  • @dediablo1 i agree . Rather than adding tomato paste you can stir fry finely chopped tomatoes that makes it much faster

  • @dediablo1 i agree witha all 3 points but be very careful with kasoori methi as it is a very strong spice . onions have lots of carbohydrates and non reducing sugars which balance the acid of tomatoes so then you dont have to add any refined sugar that gives a richer taste . Plus every 100 g of onions have 4-10 % of daily requirement of most of the vitamins so that helps too .

  • you ladies are so cute n amazing! seriously i cant even cook but your easy recipes are amazing ...i def think you guys should be on tv!

  • Rather than discussing about the presenters and pointing out who is better out of the two, in my opinion viewers sould concentrate more on the dish and how its prepared! Gr8 dish!! Thanx for posting!

  • whats paneer? cheese?

  • Paneer is homemade cheese that doesn't melt when heated. It is available at most Indian grocery stores if you don't want to make it at home.

  • It will melt if the water isn't wrung out properly. Happened to me :D

  • My fav Chef is Sanjeev Kapoor

  • there is no F language used....therealoracle...nothing rude too...only Hetal was appreciated more and Anuja was told to improve...she made a big scene about it

  • dont worry...fear is human..everyone has that..u girls will grow up soon and start improving urself...all the best...by the way ur recipes are good but attitude is bad

  • Scared :p
