Because she started by designing the jewelry for Chanel and would model in the shows....She was the niece of Gilles Dufuor, who was the head of studio at Chanel. She was let go and went to Dior.

Great clip. the early 90's seemed more fashion friendly, and pretty much every models was known. Fashion shows seemed very fun and chaotic.
