I remember being little and being "stupidly" honest. For instance,
One day me and my grand-dad were leaving chick fil a. A little girl ran to the gate of the playground and yelled "Sir! Sir!!" Before we could get away. My grand dad walked back over with me and said, "Yes?" and that girl pointed right at me and said, "Your daughter PUSHED me!"
My dad looked down at me and said, "Did you push her?" I said, "Yes"
He asked me why, and I said, "Because she got in my way." :P
@37tonya - Cosby is a great comedian, but reaks with humanism.
I believe He grew up in a home with an abusive alcoholic father which no doubt shaped his beliefs on spanking. Spanking however, is not abuse -- Abuse is abuse. Huge difference
@rox5car Look, I am so sick and tired of people advocating spanking when it has been proven to be ineffective and leads to abuse in many cases. Cosby had FIVE successful children without hitting them and so that is why I value his opinion.....He was speaking from his standpoint as a father of five, not his own upbringing so whether his father was an abusive alcoholic is besides the point. Also, you can't speak for Cosby and tell him what shaped his views....only he can do that, thank you.
@37tonya - I'm honestly not here to pick a fight with you. You voiced your opinion and I voiced mine. Just as you may be sick and tired of advocates of spanking, I feel that way about those who feel they need to cram it down society's throat that spanking is "Evil", "abusive", etc. (not saying you are that way)
A firm pat on the fanny with the palm of the hand never killed anyone. I am against anything beyond that. And I think parents should use it for serious matters only.
@armelendez2006 Dr. Cosby said in his book that he only hit his son once because he lied to him....other than that he used other more effective methods of disciplining them. I don't really want to start another discussion about this though because the issue has been argued to death.
@armelendez2006 Spanking is not a bad thing though >_> It's completely harmless, but effective enough that you only have to do it a couple times before the kid learns not to misbehave. lol
Yeah hes alive I just me him at a book signing

As for Mr. Cosby, you're probably right - probably was a pretty good father.

I love how Bill Cosby jokes about children but he never disrespects or advocates hitting them.....He was probably a great father.

@rox5car I still disagree with you so let's just leave the matter close.....quite frankly I am tired of talking about it.

@37tonya I have a strong suspicion he spanked his kids. He doesn't speak ill of spankings its actually part of his routine.

@37tonya You need to watch the part closer to the end wherein he discusses his wife using a yardstick as disciplinary tool. It's hilarious.
