what a beautiful rendition of darbari by 2 maestros:) kitni muhobbat hai gayan mein wah may god gives good health and long life pandit bhimsen joshi:)
The following are the general vocal ranges associated with each voice type using scientific pitch notation where middle C=C4. Some singers within these voice types may be able to sing somewhat higher or lower[1]:
Look at their lips (expression around mouth), their eyes and their hand movement. That is because they are trying to deliver right pitch . These mastros have master three octave rang and above. That is why other filmi singers are just immature. Right pitch can be identified even by scientific tools. Language is no barrier when it comes to pitch. That is why music is universal language.
Out outsider can judge their performance by their Octave range & control over range that they display in their singing. That is why you can judge Bhimsen Josi with Luciano Pavarotti & vise versa.
pandit bhimsen joshi is fantastic. but i think rashid is not a match for his voice. bcoz.... his performing quality becoming very down now a days. dont no why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks or the youtube facility, i am very much happy, that ican now enjoy the indian classical music, I want to uplod some old traditional "MARATHI LAVANI" {UN UBLISHED} can any body help me how to upload it?
In Nehru Park Delhi, there used to be musical concerts once a month early in the morning (0630-0830hrs). I remember one such concert of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi on 7th May, 2001. It was enthralling & captivating, when suddenly there was a heavy downpour. There were almost 5000 listeners, who did not move nor did Panditji, who continued in the same vein. Rain stopped after 10 minutes. Best marriage anniversary gift for me (31st marriage anniversary) While Panditji is magnificient Ustadji is Wow
Hmm... U may believe this or not,We've heard if flower showers in our puranas...It happens even today but as rainfall..When the Devas are happy.. they create sudden downpours which end abruptly..I heard about this in a pravachan
What a wonderful combination of this old and young greats! But one can't stop remembering Ustad Amir Khansahib when we hear this lovely composition. . .
Darbari isn't the only beautiful but MOST BEAUTIFUL and mesmerizing sound ever created in the Mughal Courts.
At the end, feel very fortunate to be born in this era to enjoy the most beautiful piece of music ( definitely Hindustani Classical Music ) ever created anywhere in human history
The name of the book is 'The Raga Guide' edited by Joep Bor and co-authors are Suvarnalata Rao, Wim van dar Meer and Jane Harvey, produced by Robin Broadbank of Nimbus Records and Joep Bor of Rotterdam Conservatory of Music AND printed in the UK by Zenith Media (UK) Ltd.
You will have a clear idea about our 74 Hindustani Ragas from Abhogi to Yaman and how they sound ( the book comes with 4 CDs as well ), brief history, preferable time of play and some notes.
This raag Darbari(in Hindustani & Darbari Kaanada in Carnatic music) was considered to be a 'cheap' raag as it was sung by prostitutes. But legendary singer Madurai Somasundaram sang a popular song in early 60's for a Tamil film and since then the raag has regained its lost status and has been often sung by great singers from Northern and Southern India.Ustaad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan has also used it a lot in his concerts.
Shame ! How can you consider " Darbari " as a cheap Raga ? Are you out of your mind! What to do with the singing talent of prostitutes. They are just simple human like us with talents as well. Don't you agree ? Darbari, the hardest to master and that's why it is considered as the king of all Ragas by every Ragapremi from the Mughal court to the street singer of sub-continenet.
Want you to study about all 74 Ragas and for your information there is a book, 'The Raga Guide'by Nimbus Records,UK.
I agree with you...its a beautiful raag....but that was the perception...Prostitutes/courtesans had a very high place in society long time ago..but that changed with time and they were looked down upon...
similarly Thumris were considered cheap and no professional classical musicians used them in their concerts....but Ustaad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan sang it in his concerts and made people realize how wrong they were...and now Thumris have regained their lost respect! :) thanks 4 d info on d book!
You will have a clear idea about our 74 Hindustani Ragas from Abhogi to Yaman and how they sound ( the book comes with 4 CDs as well ), brief history, preferable time of play and some notes. This particular book is a great help for those who has interest in our classical form of music comprised of both south and north.
This music so deep you cannot see the end. How can you see the end when the beginning is so hard to attain? To begin to sing like this, lets you see a little, but there is more.
i,ve heard it on national channel many atimes still i didn,t know the name of the rag,i,m really taken by this rag.feel sitting on a darbar.i'also had read that gangubaihangal says we all music lovers have to here at least once pt ji's darbari!i was searching for that got it and really feeling darbari.thanks for uploading.
