All I have to say is that Tolki lost all my respect (and even more after he hired Michael "never gonna do metal again" Kiske and Tobias "I will sell out" Sammet).

I believe when comparing vocalists who replace another, I try to look at who fits the bands style the best. van halen, van hagar, van who the flank was that extreme dude. the important thing to me is did the band change to fit the vocalist, did the vox improve the band ( la brie of DT ) or did the singer just fit. so ask yourself tolki or kotipelto, and then just shut the hell up and listen to whichever makes you appreciate music the most.

Kotipelto is much nicer than Tolkki to be honest, they are both great musicians but I have personally liked Kotipelto's music (he has own band named Kotipelto and has had for years which makes very good music) always very much. And Timo Tolkki did most of the songs together with Kotipelto. I prefer Kotipelto over Tolkki.

There is no real Stratovarius. Indeed it is confusing, but Tolkki's R... R... is not going to be the same without Kotipelto's Stratovarius. These elements are separated, broken. It may seem repulsive, but everyone is right. Tolkki did something he shouldn't have and that's understandable... Perhaps time will explain what we yearn to know.

He wanted to release his R...R album faster, thus he, behind other's backs, accepted the deal with "Frontier Records" which included "disbanding the band" making a new project and releasing the album. for this he was paid 150 000$ in advance.

Other members, however, were shocked by such an egoistic decision(they found out about it only after the release of "Revolution Renaissance") and thus the "war" between Tolki (with his usual depression) and other band members began.

Currently the band members want to continue project(Stratovarius) and Tolki seems hellbent on making it end here and now.

Tolki however is STRONLY influenced by his depression problems as the current his decision do not make sense (first he says that he does not want to do anything with strato, legally passes the rights to the other members and then he suddenly decides that he will release the "last album" with(here comes the best part) original members, as if he never waived the name rights

Well stratovarius did have some not-tolki songs who were perfect (like the Uncertainty, What Can I Say, Glory of the World, Run Away, Keep the Flame, Why Are We Here? and Curtains Are Falling), while tolki DID do some not-stratovarius songs in stratovarius ("Maniac Dance" anyone?) and the lyrics on his "New Era" were even more straightforward and unoriginal than Sammet's "Scarecrow". And people yet dare to say that "New Era" is similar to Visions? In no way...

So only time will tell :)
