This is one of my favorite oldies, Isaac Hayes, I have all of this Cd's. I used to listened to him on the 8 track tape, I first heard the music from the movie Shaft. Love that sexy chocolate man> And this is one of my romantic music, when i get puckered up with my man on the weekend, blows my hair back. Thanks for the sound track.

Way back in the day Operation Breadbasket now Operation PUSH would give concerts at the old Amphitheater in Chicago and one of the performers was Isaac Hayes and I can still remeber him walking thru the aisles with this long white fur on and those black and white fur boots at 1:04. Yes I saw those boots and I still remember that some 40 years later it was a thrill just like getting the 'Shaft' album for Christmas in '71.

When I was a kid I was saving what little money I had and didn't buy the Shaft soundtrack, but I did buy the 45 edit of "Do Your Thing". What a pleasant surprise it was to find "Ellie's Love Theme" on the B-side! Thanks for posting this!

This was one of those albums that you just don't ever forget...I remember playing this time after time after time. This album was just a masterpiece.

I remember back in 71...this movie was just huge...and the Shaft theme was the hottest thing going on in music at the time. Ahhh the good ole days.

Richard Rowntree played the original John Shaft in the 1971 movie and in the two sequels...Shaft's Big Score! (1972) and Shaft in Africa (1973)

He also played John Shaft's uncle in the 2000 remake...
