Hi TheNewBreeder. Goldfish are very social creatures so they wont be fighting, but persistent chasing from males wanting to mate can cause the females to become exhausted. You have a mix of fish breeds so the chances of spawning with any success would be very low. The chasing is just part of the wish to breed and eggs can be released but are often eaten by the fish. The chances of any eggs becoming fertile is very very low so let them just enjoy the experience.
Oooppppssss....someone said it was OK to do that......they are white big 9-10 days old fish and the bigger one hasn't taken any notice off them....I'm giving up after this....it's too upsetting and I can't understand he was silly enough to chase his own shadow and crash Into the glass....
He was such a lovely looking fish....he took after his mother who is a shubunkin......one left now.....I'm thinking off putting the week old fry in the tank with the last one.
Hi 8SQ, sorry Jerry did not reply, he has gone on a late summer vacation with a young blonde comet called Marilyn!!!!! They are having a romantic week in tank 16! :)
Hi Silverstreak202. Could you please send us a private message with your e-mail address and we can send you pictures and information that will answer your questions.
Hi theeReddVision. Thank you for looking and posting your dislike for this films content. Your opinion is valued and we comment as follows. The films show the narrow ends of the tanks (containers), and as the films name states the fry were feeding on brine shrimp, thus they were all at the end of the tank feeding. Regarding your comment (it isnt healthy) all our fry are very healthy, disease free and 12 months on have grown into healthy little fish. We take pride in breeding healthy fish.
Hi TheApplechamp. Thank's for your question. The fry in these films were from 1 spawning, of common goldfish with body lengths of 15cm, the male, a red and white and the female, white with orange patches. It was their first spawning on 15 04 2010, producing around 15,000 eggs. Just after this film was taken we split them into 8 tanks, taking 2 of us 3 days to transfer them, counting them as we went. Thats how we found we had 12,500+. They are now 12 months old, healthy and thriving little fish.
Hi, sorry to say we won’t be able to post pictures of the filtration systems as we have a commercial version on test and for intellectual property rights reasons we cannot divulge and specifications at this stage. We hope the trials will be completed by March 2012.
The reason we use a 75% over a 24 hour period continuous water change as part of the filtration system on our high density fry tanks is that standard filtration methods and water polishing media cannot remove all the solid waste material let alone things like ammonia, thus causing the water quality to drop over a relatively short period. Our filtration systems are very effective at waste management, constantly maintaining the water quality to a very high standard.
Hi, thanks for looking. We build our own filtration systems designed for small fish and fry. The systems replace 75% of the water over a 24 hour period, the filters are washed every 24 hours and each system is fully cleaned every 4 weeks. At each system cleaning the fish are split 50-50 into two other tanks giving room for the fry to grow. We currently run 24 fry systems and are always looking for better ways to spawn, hatch and grow the fry.
wow so many i would love to have all
