@sostarstruckkxoxo I find it this way; At the end 'the storyteller' says: "And who's telling this story?" and the camera was showing SweetPea. So, I think SweetPea was the one who was telling the story.. and that's why there was the bus-driver as their Guide .. and the boy was just 'a random' who SweetPea just added to the story. The story SweetPea told (and which was the main thing in the movie) was a more beautiful version of her escape.

I think the world in Babydoll's head is in fact another reallity, another dimension. Or maybe the truth is simpler: You don't dream about faces you haven't seen, maybe the bus driver is someone Babydoll saw sometime, same with the little kid.

I think she was so fucked up that she managed to create an illusion in an illusion. I think the stepfather was true but everything else was not. There were no whore house, it was the asylum all a long. She was just too brain damaged to see it. It is indeed a movie you have to follow closely but in the end its pretty obviouse. All around a good movie, not the best I've seen, but good enough.

If you noticed in the beginning the "theater" was trashy gloomy and full of well crazy girls fighting in white robes. Then it suddenly changes into a whore house as the movie progresses. So honestly I think its pretty easy to tell which part is reality and which part is in her fantasy. Try watching it again maybe it will be more clear ;).

Transformers/pirates should not ever be listed on a best movie list, they are acceptably fun movies(I'm referring to the originals of course as the sequels are so terrible they should never be mentioned again in film history) but they no where near the status of films such as The Godfather or The Silence of the Lambs.
