The gameplay centers around Booker and Elizabeth cooperating, so defining their characters is important for immersion.

Bioshock Infinite simply has the Bioshock title on it so it can sell better than a new IP so they changed everything and stated it felt like Bioshock. The dialogue is literally a comment by Elizabeth, response from Booker, pause, repeat. This isn't so much of character developing as it is poor writing.

And the dialogue isn't just for character development, it's an organic way to give the player all the info that unseen support characters (who always seem to be able to see what you see) and pop-up text boxes would. I like it, but it does drastically alter the mood of the game. Besides, this is an action set-piece where you're attacked by the Songbird, I doubt there will normally be this much talking.

I like how the old bioshock games did with the recorded messeages you could find to learn more of the story so you can choose by yourself if you want to listen to the story or not. This just looks so scripted, but I dont know it was just 2 mins gameplay ^^

Why is everyone so excited for Skyrim? So far, Bethesda has provided us with RPGs that have crap characters, no character development and hardly a focus on the main story line. There has not been a game yet that I have felt the need to help any character or have been drawn to any character from Bethesda. Is Skyrim going to be different or more the same?
Bioshock on the other hand was a fantastic game with great story and atmosphere. This looks like it will provide more of that and then some.
@DaftDirt you never played correctly than because if you do happen to play correctly you can have great character development and you must have some imagination to enjoy such a game
@DaftDirt The point of games like Oblivion and Fallout is to let you decide who you want to be and 'role play' that character. Bioshock gives you diversity in combat but not in communication, which is why most character reactions will be the same. Oblivion and Fallout on the other hand let you help who you want, and how you do it (based on a karma system). It's about diversity vs. direction. You obviously prefer letting a story unfold rather than creating your own which is totally valid too.
@DaftDirt A game with 8 hours of gameplay (like bioshoc) is fun, but a game like (Oblivion) with 100 hours of fun is just something else. I love both bioshock and Elder Scroll, but I'm gonna buy Skyrim first. If you don't like Elder Scroll games then don't buy them, but don't be hatin.
@Pokerjon222 It is wonderful that you can crank so many hours out of these RPG Bethesda games. I did much the same with Oblivion and FO3. The problem was I did not enjoy them as much as say a Bioshock or a Portal. Shorter games by far, but the satisfaction that it left with me was far greater than any Bethesda game I have played. And yes, I will not be picking up Skyrim, same as I did not pick up FONV. And I'm not hatin, I was seriously confused by all the Skyrim comments on a Bioshock trailer.

Why is everyone so excited for Skyrim? So far, Bethesda has provided us with RPGs that have crap characters, no character development and hardly a focus on the main story line. There has not been a game yet that I have felt the need to help any character or have been drawn to any character from Bethesda. Is Skyrim going to be different or more the same?
Bioshock on the other hand was a fantastic game with great story and atmosphere. This looks like it will provide more of that and then some.

@DaftDirt The point of games like Oblivion and Fallout is to let you decide who you want to be and 'role play' that character. Bioshock gives you diversity in combat but not in communication, which is why most character reactions will be the same. Oblivion and Fallout on the other hand let you help who you want, and how you do it (based on a karma system). It's about diversity vs. direction. You obviously prefer letting a story unfold rather than creating your own which is totally valid too.

@DaftDirt A game with 8 hours of gameplay (like bioshoc) is fun, but a game like (Oblivion) with 100 hours of fun is just something else. I love both bioshock and Elder Scroll, but I'm gonna buy Skyrim first. If you don't like Elder Scroll games then don't buy them, but don't be hatin.

@Pokerjon222 It is wonderful that you can crank so many hours out of these RPG Bethesda games. I did much the same with Oblivion and FO3. The problem was I did not enjoy them as much as say a Bioshock or a Portal. Shorter games by far, but the satisfaction that it left with me was far greater than any Bethesda game I have played. And yes, I will not be picking up Skyrim, same as I did not pick up FONV. And I'm not hatin, I was seriously confused by all the Skyrim comments on a Bioshock trailer.

@bluehat94 dude do you understand how many awards oblivion has won? hundreds. HAve you seen gameplay trailers for Skyrim, their astonishing. Bioshock 1 licked ass, bioshock 2 was good, so that must mean infinite will be great. Great is an understatement to skyrim

@Kerplunk990 actually closer to 20, which is still a big number, but in your opinion the first biohshock "licked ass" which is the exact opposite of how many people feel,by your logic infinite it is going to be far better than skyrim because it won almost 4 times as many awards as skyrim has so far

@Kerplunk990 obviously, infinite doesnt come out until quarter 2 2012, though Rage, Arkham city, portal 2, Deus ex, and Dead island, will definitely give it a run for its money, maybe even beat it
