@emceegeek AT&T still gonna win if both phone have full bars, because AT&T max out at 7.2 Verizon max out around 3.1 so if both have full signal strength AT&T gonna win same way. Its just the truth
I have an iPhone 3GS on ATT and an iPad 2 on Verizon. I just ran 10 speed tests on both then averaged the results:
AT&T -- 2.22 down/0.23 up
Verizon -- 1.91 down/0.61 up
The range of download speeds for AT&T was from a high of 3.13 to a low of 1.68. The range for Verizon was from a high of 2.46 to a low of 1.37. The upload speeds for both were very consistent with Verizon being almost 3x as fast as AT&T (but who really cares about upload speed?)
@eanhl2004 I heard that AT&T is kinda limiting the iPhone because like one phone can't be better than another. So since AT&T doesn't have 4g... Verizon iPhones can't... Another reason I hate AT&T
AT&T's obviously faster. No matter how much 3G coverage Verizon has or how many customers it has AT&T's network is still the fastest 3G network and has better technology than Verizon's CDMA network. Verizon speeds are typically 0.6-1.4Mbps down and 0.2-1mbps up while AT&T's speeds are typically 2-5mbps down and 0.5-1.5mbps up with Verizon peaking at 4mbps down and AT&T peaking at 7.2mbps down.
@TheMichael1342 Please tell me your general location and test speeds. I like to know what other people are able to get speed wise and what area they are in. You should try several different servers and see if the speed changes between them. Let me know and good luck!
@FastVideoTech it says mine closest server is in Philadelphia. off of my router i got 0.00 for everything before and my fastest is .24, .58, 149 ms measured im mbps. My service sucks with my iphone. im thinking about getting thunderbolt.
Interesting test, In Central MD I get about ~3mbit down on Att. Sometimes in Baltimore I get less than 1.5mbit Lets hear it for Frederick, MD - the home of Flying Dog Beer!
@dlbcreter I was in Oxford, PA when testing using Frederick, MD. I have found that server to give the fastest results in a very large area. You should give that server a try in your area as well and let me know! I have drank "In Heat Wheat" made by Flying Dog & it was very tasty.
I am in Frederick also Verizon 3g in this area is horrible

AT&T 4G is a FARCE, they say they have proprietary info they can't give out when asked why HSPA+ is so SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!
Seriously, I wish the Iphone4S was 4G on Verizon I'd be happy right now!
