  • A guitar that badass deserves two pickups. Not bad tho

  • i just dont know about the 1 pick up

  • Say goodnight by bullet for my valentine :)

  • I heard black magic :)

  • that is a baaaaddd guitar my friend

  • How does it play???

  • @brecht787

Het is een hele lichte gitaar, en supervlot bespeelbaar. ;-)

  • Couldn't do without a neck pickup. I always loved these and always will, but I really wouldn't ever get one because of that. Bad ash dough son.

  • Children of Bodom, legend!

  • :D:D bullet was played really nice guitar tho :D

  • @Johnnydeathwish-yes defently, I have an esp alexi(which is just like this) but it has his signature pickup(emg alx) and while playing clean it sounds really noticeable, but I don't play much clean so I don't mind. :)

  • Want one...

  • CHILDREN OF BODOM at begining!

  • Is only having one pickup noticable? Otherwise it seems the real deal!

  • @Jonnydeathwish

If you mean if I recorded only 1 pickup; then yes. All you hear in the video is the single emg 81 in the bridge position. The clean isn't very good, but that's partially because of the emg 81, partially because of the Peavey 5150. It isn't exactly the perfect combo for jazzy clean tones... :-)

  • floyd rose special is made of shitty materials... standart original floyd and schaller are the top of floyd rose trems plus schaller

  • IN YOUR FACE

  • Great tone dude

  • IN YOUR FACE!!!

  • Original Floyd?0:37 is a floyd special. Anyway, really nice guitar

  • @WindowsSucks91

The FR is an original, it came stock with the guitar. However some OFR's have "Floyd Rose Original" stamped in the baseplate, while other simply have "Floyd Rose".

  • @GuitarExclusive Mate i have to ask, when it only says floyd rose it can be a really high end lower quality. As ive seen theres a FRT-O2000 Floyd Rose tremolo or licensed 1000 series or special trem on them? All i know is how to spot if it is a real FR it says ''Made in Germany'' on the back on it

  • @Masterfighterx

The best giveaway to check if it's the real deal is to look at the screws that clamp the strings in the bridge. If they are long and narrow, it's the real OFR. If those screws are however shorter and thicker, you're looking at a licensed one.

Other than that, i have noted that these bridges also had the "Made in Germany" stamp. Don't know if that was a coincidence though.

  • @WindowsSucks91 Oh actually just found out that Floyd Rose FRT-1000 2000 and 3000 bridges are orignals. But are made in Korea

  • He has such a high action on his guitar :O And loving the Say Goodbye intro :)

  • @Smit2k11

The action was really low actually. I think you get the wrong idea because of the camera angle. :)

  • @GuitarExclusive 0:21 the action looks really high :O

  • @Smit2k11 Fuckin hell! the name of the song is say goodnight!!

  • @MetalSpiker I'm really confused at this because on my ipod when I downloaded it off iTunes it says Bullet for My Valentine-Say Goodbye and Say Goodbye (acoustic version), but after I downloaded it I bought the album, stupidly, and it says Say Goodnight :S

  • awesome, i want one of these(:

  • Fuck yeah, Black Magic.

  • five stars for in your face!

  • There are alot of things I liked about the jackson, but there were some problems that bothered me as well. I'm just curious if the newer Jackson's have addressed the intonation problems and if the quality control has gotten more consistent between guitars. I honestly am interested in picking up a rhoads model if these problems have been fixed, but as of now I find the BC rich necks are freaking amazing.

  • In my opinion this guitar is more beastly than the ESP alexi 600...

  • How is the intonation on the new Jacksons? I use to own a Randy Rhoads model Jackson and even with perfect tuning and intonation set up at 12th fret using an electronic tuner certain chords sounded terribly out of tune. I replaced that guitar with a BC Rich and the intonation was way better. I was looking at the exact guitar in this video so I'm curious if the intonation is improved on these newer guitars. I play metal, but not just single notes or root 5th chords so intonation is important

  • @6second2004gto

If your rr24 still was out of tune after intonation, you must have had a very rare one with bad frets. Cause mine had perfect intonation. The only problem I had was when I tried tuning to drop B. It seems the top string saddle can't move back enough to get the intonation perfect. But I've had that problem with many guitars, this rr24 is not the only one. When using C, D or E tunings, you won't have any problems normally.

  • @Behindspace90 Actually the Jackson rhoads model I had was not an rr24 model. I owned my jackson several years ago when I was a teenager and it had intonation problems. Not a severe problem, but it was noticeable and I wasn't 100% satisfied with it. I quit playing for about 10 years due to my job, family, and other things becoming more important to me. I started playing again using BC rich and it was superior to the jackson I owned.

  • say goodnight BFMV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I HAVE THAT EXACT ONE!!!! IT"S AMAZING!!!!

  • thanks guys :) but i found another guitar i really like and its cheaper than this one :D... its called: Ibanez Iceman Ict700. is that a good beginner guitar????

  • @ShalamarBoy

Icemans (icemen?) are pretty cool guitars IMO! I think the shape is more comfortable than an RR.

  • @ShalamarBoy If I was you, I'd probably borrow a friend's cheap guitar to learn quite a bit before going for a Jackson RR. If you start right out with one it might not be easy to jumpstart. I don't really now.

However instead, I learnt on a not-so-cheap (yet crappy) guitar and now dad won't pay for this beauty... I wish to get my own money soon, haha

  • @apalmalarrain ha oh. yah when i turn 14 in april im gunna get a job and buy a guitar :D or i can get it for christmas or my bday

  • @ShalamarBoy I didn't get a much cheaper guitar for neither my birthday or christmas so I just need a job xD... Eh? Can you get a job after turning 14? :O

In any case, as someone pointed out earlier, if you're going to get an expensive guitar early on, it's best if you buy one somewhat used. Because as you learn to play and learn more about guitars, you might not really like the specs your guitar has, and you would probably start to dislike it. A friend sold his Gibson early on due to this xD

  • hey dude just go for whatever body shape u like and ask a tech if the model u like is any good then go from there

  • guys im only 13 and i dont know how to play the guitar but im very interested in learning how. should i start off with this one cuz i really want to but idk if i should.

  • @ShalamarBoy

In my opinion this isn't the most comfortable guitar to be playing at beginner level. But on the other hand; if this guitar makes you motivated to play guitar, that's the most important, so definitely give it a try and test it before you buy it. Also make sure to buy it second hand in good condition and for a good price, if you don't like it afterwards, you can still sell it without losing too much money. :)

  • @ShalamarBoy Definitely not this one... This guitar goes for around $1200 new. I'd recommend any of the lower end LTD models from ESP

  • @djg0603 Second hand the price is more attractive though. I often see them go for around 400-500 dollars. However it's still kinda risky, yes. Especially if he doesn't like the guitar.

  • @djg0603 ohh. all my friends told me ot start off on the acustic. but if i do that then it will take me forever to get all the money up to buy a jackson RR 24

  • @ShalamarBoy

You dont have to start with an acoustic at all. It just depends on what you want yourself. The most comfortable and most allround guitar out there still is a stratocaster shaped guitar. Maybe the Esp Ltd M-series, or an Ibanez maybe? A les paul shaped guitar is also pretty comfy, esp ltd also makes them.

Best thing you can do however is test all the guitars for yourself and check for low prices. They are out there somewhere. :)

  • @ShalamarBoy NOOO way.... as a first guitar its crazy, i play fine and i want to gt this but even as a second guitar im kinda not on the skill level for this guitar and i can play some Bodom man

  • @ShalamarBoy in the end its your choise but if you buy it get the juice out of it

  • A new video of the Jackson Soloist SL3 was uploaded! Check it out! :-)

  • I was going to buy an alexi 600. But i think i changed my mind just now.

  • @theozzmanupstairs

Well, they look similar, but there are really small differences. The LTD has a slightly larger cutaway at the neck heel and a belly cut at the back.

For me personally it would not matter, I like the feel of the RR24 just fine. When it comes to playability, I would also prefer the Jackson, but that's just because I personally like the neck shape better. Also the Jackson headstock is way cooler of course. ;-)

  • @GuitarExclusive Is the cutaway needed if I'm going to do bends higher than a tone on the 24th fret? The lack of the cutaway on the Jackson looks pretty uncomfortable to me. My fingers are very long (and thin) if that changes anything.

Regarding looks, I prefer ESP's headstock and the pinstripes, but only the USA versions are shipped here, and I dislike the larger bottom wing... Leave me alone on that part xD

  • @apalmalarrain

I think the addition of a cutaway on the ESP version is a nice touch, but it's not essential. You could cope well without the cutaway. I personally think the heel of the Jackson is really comfortable, especially when using the higher frets, never had any problems with it. Unless you have really small hands you should be fine with this one. :)

  • @GuitarExclusive Hehehe, ok, thank you! I ultimately decided on the RR24. I'm probably getting the white one since the black w/yellow bevels was discontinued.

By the way, does anyone know what does MG stand for (in MG Series)?

  • @GuitarExclusive I read that the reason why Alexi's ESP has the larger cutaway is because the neck joins at the body much earlier than the Jackson Rhoads does. Which is why the Jackson doesn't need one. :P

  • @xxHolyxxWolfsbanexx

You are completely right. The Jackson neck meets the body at the 19th fret, whereas the Esp neck meets the body at the 17th fret, which indeed makes the cutaway handy. :)

  • @theozzmanupstairs don't buy a guitar cuz its suited for alexi. buy it cuz its suited for you!

  • Thanks for all the positive comments every one, it keeps us motivated! :-)

We are continuously trying to improve audio and video quality, so suggestions, tips, requests, ... are all welcome.

  • COBHC!

  • Ohh shit son... Show No Mercy :0

  • i have been ask a bunch of the owner of rr24 but no one can answer me ..

does the rr24 bigger than the rr1 or rr 3 ??

rr24 seems like bigger a bit..

    am i right ?

    thank you

  • @neo69hk

The rr24 is the exact same size as the normal rr1 or rr3. The rr24 looks larger, merely because of the black pinstripes. It's an optical illusion. :)

If you have more question, feel free to ask. And don't forget to rate and/or subscribe, it means a lot!

  • Is this guitar discontinued?

  • @Tie4821

Not as far as I know. One colour has been discontinued though, I believe it was the black with yellow bevels.

  • @Tie4821 no its still being sold check out guitarcenter and musiciansfreind they had a model the rr24m with the maple neck i wanted that but they discontinued the one with the maple neck

  • Comment removed

  • I can get one for 400 is it worth it?

  • @guitarman104

If the guitar is still in good condition, they are definitely worth it.

  • @GuitarExclusive its in like perfect condition with a little bucklerash.

I have the choice of this or a dean 79 ml perfect condition with hardcase?

I play in a groove thrash band

what do you think will be better ?

  • @guitarman104

I have no experience whatsoever with the Dean, so maybe a fellow Youtuber can give you (/us) some more info on that guitar?

However I do have some experience with a fair amount of Jacksons and they have been very well crafted every time. I really like Jackson, in particular the neck shape of this rr24. I thought Dean had fatter necks, so personally I would choose the rr24.

In the end it all comes down to personal preference though. :-)

  • can anyone tell me what the intro song was? please help.

  • @zippyXL

You mean the very first song at 0:01? That's Children of Bodom with In Your Face.

  • @Behindspace90 thanks

  • is that black tape on the body or part of the paint design?

  • @PocketsGotBigMoney

It's the original design. I believe it was inspired by the RR from Alexi Laiho. I like this design a lot, personally. If you're good with (masking) tape you could make the striping yourself as well though. :-)

  • 0:51 were you playing Say Goodnight by Bullet For My Valentine? Cause that was awesome. And awesome review, im going to get this guitar later on. :D

  • @rixthebunny

It was the intro indeed. The guitar happened to be tuned in D standard and that song is played in D standard as well. :-)

Glad you liked it! Feel free to subscribe; I'm making a lot more videos this summer. (Jackson Soloist, Framus guitars, Peavey amps, etc.)

  • So gorgeous. Price is just O_O

  • @JayEff97

Retail price is about 1100 euros in Europe, but they are often listed on Ebay for about 600 euros. 500-600 Dollars would be a fair price.

  • Such an awesome guitar, I just wish they made one with a stacked humbucker in the neck!

  • @22FretsIsNotEnough

I personally didn't miss the neck pickup. However I could imagine one would like to see more tonal varieties. Also, I do like the simplicity of just one volume knob and one pickup.

  • @22FretsIsNotEnough ...aaand they recently made a couple of RR's with 24 frets and two pickups.

I'll still buy the original RR24 anyway since I never use neck pickups.

  • A brand new video of the Jackson Soloist SL3 is coming up! Improved video and audio quality, so keep posted and subscribe! :)

  • Does the jackson rr24's body a bigger than the jackson rr1 ?

it seems like a little bit bigger.

  • @neo69hk

As far as I know they are 100% identical. The different striping might cause an optical illusion maybe? The RR's are pretty large guitars anyways though. Especially the large wing give it that wide and long look, even more so with the black striping.

  • is a beauty!!!! just I want one of those!!!

  • @colodeth

It's a really nice guitar indeed. The only downside for me personally is the way you have to play it while sitting down. The shape is not for everyone, although I like it better than an SG type body.
