Frankly, I think what tipped the scale was the sharp right the economy took towards the end of the campaign. That was an issue more voters (at least according to the polls at the time) felt more confident with Obama handling than McCain. In fact, when Roe was decided 6 of the justices were GOP nominated and only 3 were DEM nominated. Hence the DEMs had no party to decide Roe and the GOP, which has used the issue to manipulate stupid conservatives for decades, was really behind the entire decision. Frankly, I think what tipped the scale was the sharp right the economy took towards the end of the campaign. That was an issue more voters (at least according to the polls at the time) felt more confident with Obama handling than McCain. The misquoted "fundamentals of the economy are sound" statement McCain made didn't help.

I don't know why when, the mortgage crisis was most prominent. BO paved the way for victimizing blacks by convincing them they could afford a mortgage because of their skin color. 30 Yrs ago Jimmy Carter was Pres. He was a complete failure. Ironically, Obama's platform was based on many of Carter's ideas. I remember when my father could get gasoline only certain days of the week & it cost over $3/gal. $3/gal then = $11 now.

How is your comprehensive level? I guess he has to spell it out for you. Let me rephrase it for you. "I will try to change the course that the last 30 years has put us on in my first term." Do you know how hard that would be with a group of people who are new to moving around in Washington. But if you get those who are aware and give them an asignment to carry out and report all progress or failures to you on a daily bases, it is probable that success will happen within the 4 to 8 years.

Why are you even debating about whether he is black? Mixed race people were never accepted as white. People see them as black. The only reason you could have to debate whether he is black is because you think BIOLOGICALLY he isn't black. But why does biology have anything to do with it?
