@MaxMyrmyr sorry, ur a little late to the party. ACORN has been cleared of all wrong doing. The FBI and the district attorney said the tapes were heavily edited and doctored. He did NOT enter offices as a pimp and he changed his story of aid heavily for the tapes. Each ACORN employee who came in contact with him reported there convo's with their bosses or called police after concern for his well being or 4 someone he claimed he was helping in her stories. @deveousdevil I don't watch FAUX news, but I did watch the original edited tapes without additional editing by the reviewer. What some of the workers said was enough evidence for me, even if they "all" supposedly called the police after. @MooseOfReason no, that is not defunding of our tax dollar sir. that is just a lost of investment capitol on a global scale. They could down size as a result if it keeps up because these funds are used toward paying stock holder dividends, research, splits, and expansion. however they will continue to do well with the amount of tax payer subsidies from us and other countries on top of the extra funds we give them for various other projects.

Public stock is plummeting, but they still have billons of dollars garunteed to them through US federal contracts. Unless these are terminated (which doesn't technically require any sort of law) they will continue to recieve funds for doing exactly what they have been doing.

The whole of Big Oil has to be cleaned up not just BP. As yet it hasn't been established with whom the culpability for this disaster lies. BP is taking responsibility against a background of government failures to regulate and monitor, and ensure the means to respond when clean up is necessary. Kicking BP may be popular but right now it's not the thing to be doing. The US has to pay more at the pump or run these risks.
