Secondly, the problem with elderly drivers is that the law allows them to renew their licenses in some states via mail, which allows barely functional old people on the road endangering the lives of everyone. Mistakes like pressing the gas instead of the brake.

Driving is reflexes and awareness. Two things you tend to LOSE when you age. Fortunately, old people are not stupid. That is why they tend to drive 10 mph UNDER the speed limit. I find it funny that my age group needs alcohol and texting to compete with them in number of accidents caused.

I am a fan of the show but I have to say the testing and stats are based on false premises. Old people are smelly because they often suffer from incontinence and generally can harbor smells from their clothing. That's why they smell.
Secondly, the problem with elderly drivers is that the law allows them to renew their licenses in some states via mail, which allows barely functional old people on the road endangering the lives of everyone. Mistakes like pressing the gas instead of the brake.

Driving is reflexes and awareness. Two things you tend to LOSE when you age. Fortunately, old people are not stupid. That is why they tend to drive 10 mph UNDER the speed limit. It is because they know their chances at correctly reacting at, oh, say 35 mph, is slim to none. Hence why they drive with one foot on the brake and one on the gas.
I find it funny that my age group needs alcohol and texting to compete with them in number of accidents caused.
