Can u help me a little i just need to know where to solder my cathode lights to the pulsevu chip, ive soldered all the other wires and im just confused on the lights, where do i solder the light and how ? thanks
Well I never worked with Cathode. But if there is a "ground" wire, then solder that to the appropriate place on the chip as though you were using a ground wire for LEDs.
Btw the leds just flash abit every few seconds though i have not tried any music, i tried moving the controller to see if the sound effects on the Xbox HUD would make the lights do anything and they dont. So i need some help :P
Also i am using 25 AWG wire from an unused mains lead i have, i was wondering what LED's do you use, what resistors do i need. I say all this because i hooked the lights upto the 12v line back of the mobo and the light was a little brighter but with t he whisper max fans on 12v (nitro) i noticed freezing starting to occur and thats when i got 3 red rings, so too much current i guess? I fixed the machine of course luckily i did not have it on long enough for it to crap up the GPU or CPU
I recently installed the chip to the 360, i wired the leds in parallel so im guessing there isn't a need for resistors as i have read. However when i turned my 360 on, the lights did not come on and i used the sync button for my SW. I hold it in and then release but the LEDS only spark a little bit of colour.. am i doing something wrong? I quadruple checked my soldering joints and am sure im doing it nearly right as the leds sparked a little tiny bit of light
Make sure you dont wire too many LEDs in a parrallel, you want them to still get enough power to operate fully. And make sure your wiring to the chip is correct.
The only thing I would change, would be to have the LEDs on the fan flash as well. But, I believe those to run with the same power from the fans and don't think they could be controlled separately.
Really the modes just make the LEDs behave differently when the xbox is on or off. The mode that I use is the the first one, I think. (LEDs pulse when on and the ring of light fades when it's turned off.)

you know there is more to that chip than what you are using it for. just check my xbox out. there may be some thing's to give you an ideal

you that's a good ideal. i need to research that. thanks for the ideal. all the credit to u

I think I figured out how to do it! I'll give it a go and post the results.

I did it! I got the lights separated from the fans and they flash along with the others! Sooo much better. Look for a video by the end of the night.

how do you turn them on and off? through the sync button? and how do you set up all 15 modes? i am getting this installed soon.

I used the sync button, it's the best way to go.
