Shirley McClaine and Audrey played in Children's Hour togther. It was very controversial, about two women accused of being gay in the 1940's or 50's. I really loved it, a must see.

This was a communication gap, Shirley knew who played CoCo, I think perhps whe was reminding the interviewer that in a previous statement she had mentioned Audrey and not Katharine, becuase he says.. you said earlier.... But Shirley is not a nice person.. I worked with her on a TV Special, and she was like the meanest and most strickt School teacher you ever had...Not friendly.. just not a nice person to strangers..

Yes, Katharine Hepburn DID play Chanel in the Broadway musical of 1969-1970. Ms. Maclaine is sorely mistaken when she says, "Audrey." The musical was not very good, but Katharine Hepburn's effort and stamina are to be commended. Also, if anyone has seen Ms. Maclaine's perfomance in the TV production of Coco, we know that she has no leg to stand upon.

I think the interviewer may be thinking of when Katherine Hepburn did indeed portray Coco Chanel on stage in the late sixties or early seventies. Understandable mistake to be confused when Shirley keeps talking of Audrey, I think. Kate DID play Chanel.

Audrey Hepburn may have told Shirley she should play Coco Chanel, but Audrey Hepburn did not portray Chanel on stage; Katherine Hepburn did. So the interviewer is right about that.

All I can tell you is that the company who has produced the mini-series is called Alchemy. Maybe you can check in its website when Coco is going to be broadcast. I'm from Spain, so I can't really help you
