I bought this laptop on December 2010 and still using it at the time of posting this. It comes with a dodgy touchpad that is hardly usable. Also it requires some internal cleaning every 4-5 months, otherwise it heats up to 90C and turns off.
No offence you guys but macbook pros are the best laptops there are around, im only 12 but atleast i know what the difference is beteween a crappy HP and a wicked MacBook Pro

Your intro is interesting but if I were a film director, there would be much less wiping and much more running of the laptop, actually. Less irrelevant comments about stickers, more about things how it runs, how the display looks, etc. The mushy buttons may be annoying etc. I hope that with an external mouse, it just disables the touchpad altogether.

Great review, man ;) Just wanted to let you know - to upgrade RAM, HDD etc., you first have to remove the battery. Beneath it, you remove the 3 screws and then on the sides two more. This way you will loosen up the front side panel (where the power button is). Then you unscrew the keyboard.

@rageofhell6 If it comes down to those 2, I will end up taking the MBP17 but having said that, I do think the sweet spot is MBP15 unless you REALLY REALLY need that 17inch LCD.

I can watch a movie on my one screen and play wow on medium(1600x900 resolution like the screen) on the other. while having multiple tabs open. and while having multiple other programs open. I have not found anything it could not run.(some things were laggy though) do remove all the stuff it comes with though so much useless crap ;)

@Mac16111 Because this is HP's business line of notebooks, not aimed at consumer market, it does have "less" crapware on-board out of the box. Just get rid of them as soon as you get it up and running. It is large and a bit on the heavy side so do keep in mind that you will be lugging around a beast if you get this model. However, I do like a spacious keyboard, number pad, and its overall quality.

@Fojta6 I have 4720, 4520, and 4310 in my lab and all of them aren't the most quiet laptops around. However, that shouldn't make you think they are the loudest either. In a normal office or room environment, it really doesn't come off as annoying.
@jur9103 LOL yes the screen is definitely nice but looking at the screen through a camera lense and on top of YouTube compression just really doesn't transfer well if you know what I mean.

if you have read the user guide that comes with this laptop....you could have seen how to open it up 8:25....
1 remove the screws from the battery area (underneath it)
2 remove the 2 screws covers and then the screws from the back edge of the computer
3 open the laptop display and remove the cover with the start button
4 remove the keyboard screws....
5 remove the keyboard.........and I think you can manage from here
