wow, I have to hand it to you.  To bastardize a song that has become popularized for being terrible is no mean feat.

Over use of melisma, maudlin abuse of "expression", poor chord voicing, laughable arrangement-- these were things I thought I would never say comparing someone to Rick Astley. i work in a music store and actually sell matons. they're not for me i'm afraid, i really like their pickup, but not the actually tone or look of the guitar. too bright. i'd prefer a warmer martin or taylor.

I have an EBG808 custom made in gloss that is very bright but that is how i wanted it. For my warmer sounds I have a custom made ECW80C with AAA Spruce top, AAAFigured blackwood back and sides and an ebony fingerboard and bridge in a satin finnish. The ECW80C is incredibly warm with a very meaty and punchy tone.

The AP5 pickup imho is one of the most reliable pickups and easiest to get a great live sound out of. Also try an apmic they are wicked too
