I understand what dphuntsman is saying about "blind faith" - or rather blind obediance - I think is the concept.
I have an autistic child who isn't particularly "obdiant" to us his parents - yet the kid is compassionate and caring, has a genuine interest in helping others and prays a lot for help with his struggles. (he has some serious health issues too) Personally, I'd rather see that than "blind obediance".
As much as morality can be taught, legislated, imposed upon by outside forces - (the governement does not bear the sword in vain) the "good" it does has limitations if there is rebellion in the heart! That rebellion will always manifest it's-self in some way or another.
As for this dog - he just maybe very inteligent and well trained with positive reinforcement. He doesn't appear to be particularly anxious or anything. Which is good!

They gave me legs, when I could not walk, they gave me protection when I couldn't protect myself....and if my dog doesn't like someone, I have quickly learned, that is someone who does NOT NEED to be a part of my Life. I understand what dphuntsman is saying about "blind faith" - or rather blind obediance - I think is the concept.
I have an autistic child who isn't particularly "obdiant" to us his parents - yet the kid is compassionate and caring, has a genuine interest in helping others and prays a lot for help with his struggles. (he has some serious health issues too) Personally, I'd rather see that than "blind obediance".

As much as morality can be taught, legislated, imposed upon by outside forces - (the governement does not bear the sword in vain) the "good" it does has limitations if there is rebellion in the heart! That rebellion will always manifest it's-self in some way or another.
As for this dog - he just maybe very inteligent and well trained with positive reinforcement. He doesn't appear to be particularly anxious or anything. Which is good!

I too was referred to this video by a friend. I've watched the video and have been reading the comments; and yes, this dog is indeed remarkable in a lot of ways. Most dogs aren't that still within their own temperments to be that obediant. Most humans aren't either!
Obediance to God is a "fruit of the Spirit" born out of trust in that indwelling Spirit. It speaks well on it's own when demonstarted; yet I find something about the message of this video a bit ---- difficult / disturbing ???

Great Video... I have a comment for u dphuntsman....No one is saying for u to walk blindly thru obedience, without evidence. Christ IS the evidence of God. He died and rose again from the grave. Eternally triumphant over all his enemies, including the enemy who has blinded your eyes to the light of the Gospel in the glory of God who is the risen Christ. Its ironic that you are actually the one who is blind. You are rejecting truth because it doesn't fit who u want God to be. But God is.

'Tis true; I'm a believer in what has been shown to exist. Zeus, Thor, Christ, the Hebrew god, etc. haven't.
The best way to teach children is by good, truthful examples. The video harps on blind obedience; not morality or encouraging critical thinking, which are the first job of teachers.

The dog's human says that he's higher up than his dog; yet I doubt that that dog believes in an invisible friend in the sky. He believes in the person standing in front of him, not myths.

This video is a symbolic message of "obediance" for everyone. The best way to TEACH a child by example. The parents, ie, dog owner are the ones who SET THE EXAMPLE. There is no abuse in this video!

I've read it; it's not a good book; i He claims to do an investigative job; yet all he does is interview one theologian after another, each of which says essentially - 'the evidence is incontrivertible!"- AND THAT'S ALL! Not a single historian is interviewed. Not one.

I knew I wasn't special until God gave ME several dogs smarter than me!! They gave me legs, when I could not walk, they gave me protection when I couldn't protect myself....and if my dog doesn't like someone, I have quickly learned, that is someone who does NOT NEED to be a part of my Life. If we will EVER LEARN to listen to our animals, we MIGHT learn to become "more Godlike". Just a thought.........................and a Prayer for our Angels!!

Thank you for your dialog. I guess in this instance I have played the Devil's Advocate to lure out the Faithful. You stand up for what you believe and that is admirable. Congratulations on being the only one to do so. I apologize if I riled or insulted you in any way. I think I was initally put off by the ludicracy of involving a dog this way. I know what Dyslexia is. I used to work with small children at a Montessouri Learning center, and there was a child there who was borderline. That was not my question. I want to know what the intent of your comment? If you are indeed, not a christian, which is your right as human, then why are you even watching this video? I can find plenty of humor in life, first of all. I am not a holy roller. I am typical red blooded american woman, who gets the typical laugh out of anything funny, but not when it comes to something that may be religious. I take my religion very seriously. I never said that God didn't love the sinner. I am a sinner. God loves everyone, no matter what their sins are. He even loves the ones that don't love him back. That is what makes him such a wonderful and forgiving God. Nobody is perfect. And was not passing judgement, I was just asking what the intent of the original comment meant, that's all.
