THAT'S A HAYWARD SUPER PUMP. THERE'S A 90% CHANCE THAT MOTOR CAN BE REPAIRED, I CHARGE 75.00 WITH A FREE SHAFT SEAL TO REBUILD ONE OF THESE, REASON ..COULD BE A START CAP OR BEARINGS, GRASS IN THE FAN, OR IF IT HAS BEEN SITTING, THE ROTOR MAY HAVE RUSTED TO THE STATOR , THE BEST THING TO DO IS SEARCH YOUR AREA FOR YOUR LOCAL POOL PUMP MOTOR REPAIR GUY WITH FREE TESTING AND HAVE HIM DO THE REPAIR, ASK HIM HOW TO TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOUR MOTOR AND PUMP ! JAY .. FLORIDA
also check the face of the motor at the shaft, if it looks rusty looking you may have frozen pump bearings also, but check the other stuff first like the cap and impeller
