  • Wow! That is some GREAT static! I haven't heard that type of static in a long time! Awesome static

  • I only hear static wierd sounds after about 3 seconds into the video?

  • WHAT??

  • blehhh! whats that noise ! hmph

  • You killed my ear...

  • FUCKING awesome sound quality bro

  • god...! i think this video is haunted... heard lots of buzzes and clicks then a voice said we're all going to die... if you play this video backwards nothing much happens

  • dead god the sound makes me cringe

  • Ok I think we all know that this was youtube's fault, so people saying "Why did you even upload this" just shut up. seriously.

  • hjahjshjshjahjhjahjahjahjshjajh

Great cover but whats up with the sound?

  • stupid youtube fuckin up another clip with thier fucked up enconding, this clip use to have good sound...

  • ok majorly bad speackers couldnxt hear anything!!

  • I had to make sure my speakers still work, or else I'm suing..lol

  • why not listen to your recordings before posting?! crap sound!

  • umm you might want to do something about the sound quality..great playing but i heard alot of buzzes and stuff..might wanna check that out :/

  • I can't even hear half the song because the camera fucked up. Why upload it if we can't even hear the song?

  • I am now deaf. I don't mean to say anything against your piano skills, but the audio bombs in your video are painful and a very bad choice. I hope it wasn't yours. I mean, even keeping my headphones 2 feet from my face, they were still loud enough to interrupt the other audio.

  • Does anyone have the sheet music for this song?

  • I made a tutorial.

    Check it out.

  • mas mal no se puede escuchar (problemas de audio), ademas, cual es la idea de tocarla tan rapido le quitan la estetica a la pieza =/

  • c'est le dixième que j'entends, et ENFIN il n'est pas trop rapide ^^

    bravo :D

  • Nice, I like your tempo of this composition - not so fast, not so slow, the optimal one.

  • very nice!

  • I love it with the pedal!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, this is very nice! well done=)

  • I'm gonna play this music in my recital, and I'm practicing a lot.

you did a nice job :]

    Congratulations !!!

  • I think its important for you to remember that the lower notes of each octave in bar 14 are tied

  • At the risk of being mobbed by people, I'm gonna say that think it should probably be played a little bit faster (not enough to muddle the whole thing up, just to put some fire in its belly). And personally, I wouldn't use the pedal, but I can understand that different peoples' interpretation will make all the difference.

Aside from my personal views though, nice job!

  • Take a look through my videos...I reposted this a while ago on my new piano. A bit faster and not so much pedal. Let me know what you think :)

  • Your video's are absolutely stunning

You definetly bring character to your music

    :]

  • It isnt grade 6 or 7... its around 5

  • This is on the current ABRSM syllabus for Grade 6 (one of the alternative A pieces)

  • I don't believe in piano "grades"...learning piano differentiates between each individual- how can that be graded?

  • i totally agree!!!

  • Its accually grade 6

  • i learned that song when i was 11 o:

  • I have to agree with ashleync29, I am also kind of tired of people just trying to show off how fast they can play it.

I believe that you did a fantastic job in playing this piece. Well done, and like ashelync29 says, you can actually hear the song! Nicely done! ^_^

  • I too am sick of people trying to show off how fast they can play this and jumbling the sound so you can't even tell where one note ends and the next starts. Thanks for playing nice and evenly so we can actually hear the song.

  • @ashleync29 I agree. I dislike the piano players who are "speed demons" just to show off. if the song calls for it, play it fast and lively. if not, stop showing off. :-)

  • Nice tempo. So sick of people butchering this by showing how fast thay can play it. Good job :)

  • What grade level is this piece (appors.)?

    Great playing!

  • i think this guy plays this piece really well

  • I agree the pedal should only be used in one place in this piece!!!

  • don't use the pedal !!!!!

  • yeah,,i was gunna ask cus ive got the piece but it doesnt say anything bout pedals!!!

    nice playin tho!!better than mine!!Lol

  • lol

    =/

  • my ex-girlfriend taught me this piece...

  • this peace really does say alot eh?

  • ya know its nice to see sum1 playin it an not rushin ahead and actually giving a person time to listen.

  • i agree.. allows more emotion to sink in to teh pianist and the audience who listen

  • this is the absolute most fun song to play on the piano.

  • I agree. I love playing this piece

  • is it e and then goes on to a c chord because thats what my paper says and it does not sound right

  • Je ne sais pas si la pédale est nécessaire sur ce morceau.

  • Je suis d'accord - c'est pas nécessaire.

    Translation of the above:

"I don't know if the pedal is necessary on this piece."

    "I agree - it's not."

You played it beautifully, full of emotive nuances and the like, but it could have gone without the pedal, allowing for a more tinnish "Baroque sound." Just an opinion, though.

  • The actual translation of "I agree - It's not." is "Je suis d'accord - ce n'est pas necessaire" (barring my inability to type accents). You forgot the "ne".

  • Um... I do apologize? In speaking, I often omit the "ne" from my phraseology; I never did focus much on French Grammar, instead spending my time on learning English. I know the "ne" goes there, I just overlook it.

    Thanks, though.

  • aha you absolute goon

  • Somehow its not always the same speed.i play this song too at the moment(but who cares?)

  • I think i am your 40000 viewer.

My prize, however, was the music you played.

    (Brown noser, I know.)

    Thanks.

    A.

  • no pedal on this song i'm playin it for MACS and its better just allegro or allegro molto not presto it blurs the beauty and simplicity of the song

  • speed it up, dude!

this song is meant to play realy FAST

    u play it too slow

but you play almost perfectly, just a few mistakes, but its ok

    nice job

  • Hi mate,

First off al i think it is nice. But its nice if you speed up 1 time than you dont use a pedal yust the bows. Than you have to study realy often. If you play fast you get a nicely effect. Sorry im dutch so cant say it good.

  • From my opinion, I think that the piece would sound better if its played slower (something like allergro instead of presto) but thats just me :p

  • I would endorse what most people have said: don't use damper pedal. Not only is it Baroque; you have lots of scalic passages, so blurring them with the pedal not only makes the music sound wish-washy and unclear, but not very stylistic of the time period.

  • Very nice. This is such a fun song to play.

  • I'm learning this song...

  • i have to learn this piece.looks diffulcult though. sounds awesome though too

  • Im 11 and I can play this song, but slowly:)

  • it would be so much better if you didn't use the pedal you should learn to interpret music this is baroque therefore no pedal because it was originally written for a harpsichord and is not intended to have the sound with the pedal.

  • WOW

  • wonderful

  • I remember when i learned to play that. I was so proud of myself. And then i forgot how to play like a month later. :(

  • omq. i love this piece.

and yeah its easyyyy to play

but kinda hard to learn, so my teacher says.

ive been learning it for 2 weeks now.

    and its sooo hard

but then again im onyl like a begginer :]

  • very respectable--smooth throughout-

What people say here is true, don't be intimidated by this piece, it's surprisingly easy to commit to memory--very automatic once learned.

But like all else, keep it slow, entire piece equal tempo "before" you try to speed it up.

JH88 is already there--nice job. lol, I'm still a few ticks behind.

  • Does anyone know any good books for beginners who want to learn how to play piano and how to learn to play sheet music. I have a keyboard so any suggestion's would be very helpful.

  • ive got to play this on baritone soon noooooooo

  • of course you are supposed to use the pedal

ppl who say to dont use the pedal are piano noobs

  • haha then my teacher is a total piano noob who gives concerts. "you are supposed to use the pedal" cpe bach surely didnt want you to use it because in his time, they didnt have a pedal respectively it was a totally new invention so using it too much is bad style. in the original sheets from bach you will not find any marks for using pedal. of course you can play the music the way you like it best but u cant argue that it has to be like that.

  • It doesn't use the pedal because it's Baroque music and written for a harpsichord or however you spell it, though i have to admit, whn i play it I use the pedal and i think it sounds better, but it was just the editor that added it.

  • Nice job, but what's annoying me is, that this piece is comparatively easy, some people say wow, but a lot is just the same an octave higher, only one trill in it, only two sheets to play. On The Harmonious Blacksmith a lot people post, that it's easy and not hard to play, which is completely wrong. THB is a lot harder and more to play. I play both pieces at the moment. I like Solfeggietto, it's beautiful. But it sounds and looks more spectacular, than it is. Nice job, anyway.

  • thats the joy in playing it... it sounds hard but its not that hard. it sounds impressive though. awesome job!

  • Wow very nice I'm impressed on the music and your skills :). I never herd this piece before and I'm going to be studding that piece this semester, so as a request: Could you tell me where you found the music sheet to download? Thanks and great job :)

  • Nice. I played this on piano a while back. 0:41-0:43 gave me a hard time I remember.

  • very nice indeed, but not whit pedal.

  • I recorded a version without pedal...check out solfeggietto REPOST on my channel.

    THanks!

  • I tend to prefer this one instead of the one without pedal. I don't know why, though... It might be because this one sounds richer, and it has, apparently, a greater volume. Anyway, wonderful job, man, keep it up.

  • Good job, but PLEASE don't use the pedal. It's not supposed to be used for Solfeggietto.

  • I used the pedal in this recording...check for a repost of this song later on in my recordings where I don't use the pedal. I agree that it sounds better without

  • there is actually a very few parts where pedal is used

  • dude great job, best Solfeggietto clip i've seen yet.

  • This song is so fun to play. The sheet music I have has some pedal in it. I've tried it without and I think it sounds cool either way. I'm with fightingfordefeat on that one, I can never play anything when I know someone is listening. Great job!

  • Pedal... It's not supposed to have pedal, is it? like stephewok said, It's baroque. they didn't have a sustaining pedal (don't slaughter me if I have the wrong name of the pedal) in that time. but you know what?? GREAT JOB! I liked it! ^^ thumbs up!

  • I agree...it's a baroque piece. Pedal = forbidden!!!

  • sounds much better than Peter Tork ever played it!! nice work

  • Technically not bad, but the pedal is a big mistake; it muddies up the sound so that the listener has trouble underwstanding the pieve.

  • I did another version without the pedal...sounds MUCH better. Take a look through my channel to find it.

  • his hands r like flowing like water!

  • i thought it was good. i can never play HALF as good as i usually do when i kno im going to be watched. i play it twice that fast when i'm nervous :P its insane. My version is different tho. not as much pedal. its funn. Nice work =]

(especially when 29,295 people are watching. :P) i would have died under pressure. i could never post my music on YouTube xD

you got guts to do that =]

  • i never can play it that fast

  • wow. loved it. check out my version tell me what u think. :P

  • Are there any other pieces similar to this?

  • yes all the bach's were the same, lol FAST!

  • Very nice ! Thank you very much :)

  • majourly sped up watch timing.

where u holding the pedal the whole time? try and slow down at the ending its a much nicer affect

  • hey I reposted this later with a better performance...take a look for it.

    Thanks!

  • Need to press more into the keys because some of the notes that should have been big sounded a little weak to me. Also, what was up with the ending? Maybe make the ending slower? Overall, pretty poor. Hands looked dead and limp.

  • Hey this one was definitely not the best...check out my repost later on in the list of my videos...much better!

  • Lighten up on pedal. 'Twas muffled. Not good definition of notes.

  • very good

  • Very good

  • very good!

  • woooow super!!! I can play it too, but not so fast :S:S:S=(=(... i play it really slow..^^

  • seemed alittle slow. maybe even push harder on the keys because some of it was soft you couldnt hear it. other wise nice. i love doing it with the pedal. it just sounds better.

  • you see i can play lots of songs like that one...but not so fast! aah!

  • i kinda like it with the pedal throughout, eventhough i dont play it like that

  • Excellent! Bravo! Play the piece any way your artistic mind sees fit! However, in response to anyone who comments about the pedal and the tempo: the piece should be performed without pedal and "prestissimo" or as fast as possible (although it is quite beautiful at slower tempos - it is really meant as a challenge to the skill of the pianist and their virtuosity - please feel free to check out the video of me playing this piece...at a much faster tempo...) BRAVO!

  • Umm not to be a youtube shit-talker, but the rhythm is off by milliseconds. It sounds "stubmbling" because of some notes being held too short or too long by milliseconds, and it is noticable. the solution is stronger and more controlled fingers imho.

  • There are many very precise places in this song that you use the pedals. If you don't know where, then don't use them.

That guy was alright, but I can play it much better. (When I don't have a broken hand) I usually play the song about 25% faster, and it still sounds good! ^^ I'm proud of this song because when I was in grade 5 piano (after one year of playing) i learned this song. And got a full year scholarship for piano, because I played it so well.

    o.k. enough bragging.

  • Hey what's up...I played it again recently on a better piano at a faster pace. Check for Solfeggietto REPOST :)

  • i thought i heard a little mismatch in the 1st.. agh i better not commment piano playing since i just do the church organ :)

  • My transcript is different. No doulble octaves near the, and a shorter ending.... ? Its hard to perfect consistantly this one, im still having trouble after a bout 5 months. Boo hoo

  • I've been experimenting playing this piece with the pedal, too....you did a beautiful job!

  • i love playing this

  • I have yet to see a performance of this piece that matched the quality of this video. Many people fail to realize speed does not mean skill. This piece is played at the appropriate tempo and demonstrates skill. So would you stop bragging about how you butcher the song five times faster?

  • Check out the more recent re=post...I think it's much better than this one...

  • I agree. This renetion let us hear the notes that CPEB wrote in this beutiful piece.

  • Very good, however, I believe C.P.E. Bach did have the use of pedal and would have wanted to use it, for pianos were invented very recently,

  • Fantastic playing, right on the tempo of the song!

  • Baroque musicians didn't use the pedal because they played this on harpsichord. You can bet that if they had had the pedal and the modern piano, they would have used it! However, the tempatation to overpedal this piece is great. I liked your pedaling and tempo.

  • im sorry, you suck at this song, there is no pedal and you need to play it at a more solid speed. you have most of the notes down, but its still very loosely played

    practice some more

  • I agree the playing is a bit sloppy but the score DOES indicate the use of pedal...

  • Whoa bro, speed does not mean talent. He played a very wonderful rendition of a very wonderful piece. He does, by no means, suck at this song. Just because there was originally no pedal, it doesn't mean one can't use it.

  • Yes it does. The piece was composed in the mid-1700s, meaning the damper pedal was never used, it had only just been invented. It was more likely to be played on a harpsichord, with no pedal.

  • Thank you for reissuing the crux of my point. The the sustaining pedal had just been invented, but if it had been known, used, and available to the degree it is today, then rest-assured it would have been used in this piece. Furthermore, it's marked in the piece so apparently someone agrees.

  • It isn't marked in any of my editions. Why would it have been used in the piece? It would completely take away the staccatissimi notes, and prevent clarity of the notes in the passages.

  • Well, why would the OP lie about it being marked in his version? There are NO staccatos in mine, BTW. The classical period style was partially accentuated by the beauty and flowing nature of the pieces written during that time and the use of the pedal would have been only a plus to these characteristics and this piece. I believe that the sustain pedal would have been used in this piece and in other pieces written during the classical period due to the general nature of the period.

  • j'espere que je saurai aussi bien le jouer, en tt les k bravo!

  • nice playing i can play this song 3 times faster ^^

  • congrats...but it's NOT SUPPOSED to be played 3 times faster. This vid is one of the closest vids on youtube to the actual speed of this song

  • i play this on guitar...but i REALLY want to learn piano because it sounds wayy more graceful and elegant :(

  • nice, the speed is awsome

  • i own u on this stadium

  • This absolutely not a song. It is an instrumental piece. Songs are ...uh sung by human voice. Baroque music rarely rarely uses pedal.

  • You're right about the instrumental piece bit. You're also right about the pedal thing more or less, but that's not relevant to CPE Bach, who didn't write in Baroque style and was only born near the very end of the period: he was a more of a Rococo/Classical composer. Baroque music, quite frankly, rarely rarely used the piano anyway...

  • I thought about that after I posted it. It's touch and go. Not strictly Roccoco. Somewhere in between. In some respects, CPE Bach pioneered Roccoco, but its really Johann Christian who developed the galant style that Mozart emulated.

  • GREAT! :)

  • I'm sorry... Being a prick as I am I just have to say... There-is-absolutly-no-pedal-in-this-song... However, nicely done.

  • I love this music... I wish I could play it! Does anyone have the score?

  • it's not good!!!

  • I found the CD that has the complete music...and it's calle Etude de Concert d'après C.P.E. Bach.

    nice play again xD

  • wow...it was pretty cool.. but.. I thik I heard one longest version of that music.

  • Ok, nice, but this is not a bach's piece. It his son's.

  • JS's son's name was Bach, wasn't it?

  • well yea:/ JS Bach had three musical sons, JC Bach,

Wf Bach, and the composer of this piece CPE Bach

  • Not bad.

  • everybody's a damn critic!! screw 'em, it sounds nice, just brush up if you plan on playing the MET

  • If you wish to do the petal, petal/repetal on every second or fourth note. ^_^

    But, yes. This is nice!

  • Your performance is clean, good reading. But it's not a romantic piece. In addition do cut the pedal, watch the tempo (prestissimo). Use the metronom and speed it up gradually. By the way, I'm not an American jornalist, as somebody wrote, just a music lover.

  • i agree with removing the pedal. also, a lot of people seem to have a problem with the timing of this song and making those notes even without hesitation or speeding up.

    good work, anyway.

  • Ignore the critics. Thats wonderful

  • What's with the pedal? It should be played without, and sounds much better without.

  • Sounds really good!

  • Cut the pedal here. Doesn't need it at all. Plus practice this with a metronome.

  • it's called "solfeggettio" think you need some practise writing the title:D

  • actually, he got the title right xD

  • well, for the first it's called "solfeggettio" :P think you need more practising writing the title :D

  • before you post down comments please make sure that YOU are correct. he does have it correct in the tittle it is in fact 'Solfeggietto' which is how he has it. good performance, but i agree with the others about the pedal. I have learned the piece also and I remember that in the music it only has specific parts where the pedal is used. get rid of the pedal and it'll be great

  • wow that was great! what grade is that? fantastic performance!

  • ooooh~~~ nice!! =]

  • very nice

    Good job!

  • beautiful performance !

  • LOL dude ur video is hecka better than mine. check mines out though. its ok :/
