@PeterMayer I completely understand that. He also does Big Love solo (the video is on here) ! I never thought it was notable when FM did it. Solo it is amazing.
He's the finest picker/strummer on the Planet, period. And one of the BEST songwriter-poets in History!! i ABSOLUTELY love this Album, which came out when I started back to College after working in a Factory ('sweat shop') for 3+ years. LUV it!
mixed genre used to make people confused...it is more popular nowadays...I like his Mike Oldfield style instrumental experiment..and his voice is ahh great.
I know i love this album and thanks for uploading this performance, ive got lindsey singing dont look down which is one of my faves...out of the cradle is a fantastic album i got it imported at the time, it is a disgrace to see it selling so cheap now...deffo underated artist everyone knows him from fleetwood mac but solo stuff seemed to get lost on some folks...glad to know there are some real fans out there x
For me, Lindsey is one of the all time great writers, producers and song writers and some of his best stuff is on the solo projects, all of which are delightful.
His guitar playing is always in line with the needs of the song, never just flashy for the sake of it, in fact, some of the most beautiful stuff is the most understated.
I've been listening to this album for 20 years along with all his other output and i never get bored with it!
It's great that this song and album has been rediscovered all these years later. It's a real shame it never got the attention it deserved 20 years ago.
I agree with lalalives..an amazing album and I too am a music buff and a working gigging muso..
What amazes me is why, when they do these lists of the greatest guitarists of all time that this guy doesn't feature.
If you listen to the intricate and often very subtle layering of many guitar parts and the thought that goes into his incredibly well constructed guitar solos on all his albums and the Mac stuff, Buckingham should be right up there with them!
Hi Curtis, you can get the track from i-Tunes, if you meant the album track and not this live versio and I'm sure it's pretty available on a file sharing site such as mp3 Rocket?
Es cierto Lindsey engancha, se te introduce tanto que lo acabas integrando en parte de tu personalidad artística, musical... Su espíritu alegre y apasionado con guitarra o sin ella se agradece en un mundo tan oscuro como este.
OOTC is probably my favorite album of all time. It's a timeless masterpiece that is so under-appreciated...just like Lindsey is under-appreciated. NO ONE plays the guitar like he does. He is simply amazing. I love the "favorite misunderstood musician" comment by a previous poster..I totally agree with that.
Thank you SO MUCH for posting these great vids. I wish more people would 'get' LB like you do!
Yes this album just literally gave me goose bumps and is one of my all time favorites Dont know if too many people actually have heard it all its just awesome
OOTC is my favorite album of all time, and I'm quite a music connoisseur. It's just a brilliant piece of work and it really pisses me off that I was in Chicago a few days ago, stepped into Borders and saw three copies there for $7.99.I mean, the price is amazing but there's true garbage out there three times that price and it's a shame people haven't got a clue about this album's greatness...in fact, just go out and get ALL of Lindsey's solo albums if you haven't. You'll be glad you did.
Sometimes a great artist has to find a COMMERCIAL outlet to become famous, than they can release their music and the true music lovers can appreciate all the stuff they make, not just the "commercially" successful! Lindsey is an artist like that and there are many others. Look at Roger Waters or David Gilmour, commercial success only in their band, solo they would have never made it either! But an album like Amused To Death is a masterpiece, put out as PF, it would have been a mega hit!
gremmiehodad, I agree. i remember rushing down to tower records each week to see if the album had climbed any higher on the billboard 100 and always being disappointed. i think he's also overlooked as a guitarist in general. i don't know if he'd make a "20 greatest guitarists of rock and roll" list or not, but he should.
I remember seeing this on youtube a while back & it disappeared. Glad to see it again. Thanks for uploading. Out of the Cradle was the best solo album of Lindsey's. I'm still dying to see him perform Doing What I Can live. I'd also like to see him do Wrong, and the highly underrated Surrender the Rain, which is a great, great song & one that gets repeated many times on my car stereo. Countdown, This is the Time & several others were just so damn good.
I bought this record in 1992. I really liked it right away. In my opinion it is as good as the best of Fleetwood mac. "Out of the cradle" is one of the very best albums I have ever heard. unfortunately most people don`t know about it.
Im well familiar with the Countdown video, but I never knew he was back on again. You can tell from the first interview that Dave really likes Lindsey. Great to see this!! I didnt notice until the second time that its taken from the JAC cable station, I grew up watching NBC on WJAC haha
Thanks for your great comment and for viewing my video!! I agree ~ Dave does seem to really like Lindsey, especially judging by his 1st appearance on the show. By the way, that's cool that you lived in the same area as me at one point. (That is one of my local stations.) What a small world!! (:
I missed this one on Letterman, thanks. :)

There's not any other musician that makes me feel like Lindsey. His musical legacy is flawless, so passionate about everything he's doing!
More soloalbums would be a blast, "Gift of screws" is amazing, and "Out of the cradle" still holds a spot in my top-three "best albums of all time"!
Got to see the Mac in concert earlier this year, a dream come true!
