Japan is a great country with a powerful economy, military, and cultural tradition. I think that the USA is very lucky to have Japan as one if its' closest allies. As an American I felt very welcomed in Japan when i visited several years back. But I think people under estimate how formidable the JSDF really is. It's true that their army is not the largest due to constitutional restrictions, but with their advanced technology and wealth they have some of the best equipment and training.

Japan is a great country with a powerful economy, military, and cultural tradition. I think that the USA is very lucky to have Japan as one if its' closest allies. As an American I felt very welcomed in Japan when i visited several years back. But I think people under estimate how formidable the JSDF really is. It's true that their army is not the largest due to constitutional restrictions, but with their advanced technology and wealth they have some of the best equipment and training.

Yes, the US Military have a hard time with insurgency in Iraq but in a conventional warfare (non-nuclear), the US military would have terrible loses against China or Russia but in the end would rule supreme. Can China or russia have a fighter capable to match the F22? NO! Can china or Russia able to detect the B2 Stealth Bomber... I don't think so. I think america would win. But I rather not think about it because it's scary and many people would die.
