  • the 1st 10 min of this presentation is pretty much a gr8 summary of e-chem (the last 5 r kinda useless except to ur students)... but it's still just a summary (ex. cathode/anode were not mentioned) and it's a pity every one of ur screencasts has not been uploaded... u could rly help out a lot of ppl w/ ur wonderful teaching skills

  • @mephatboi Thanks for the comment. Tell you the truth, I made this screencast for my students during my practicum as a student teacher. Because of your encouraging words, I'm going to make a few more videos to at least complete this unit and maybe a few more for Chem 11 and 12. Thanks! Stay tuned.

  • Hi i am not sure if you cleared this up later on in the video but the flow of electrons that you have depicted is incorrect, Electrons should flow toward the cathode not away because the cathode is where reduction, gain of electrons, occurs. May be a little confusing to viewers.

  • @jmay0607 Thanks for the comment, however this is the half-cell reaction of Cu(s) + 2AgNO3 ---> 2Ag + Cu(NO3)2. In this case, electrons flow from Cu, thus it is being oxidized (and is the anode). The electron flow I have depicted is correct, I believe.

  • Thank you so much! I had a hard time understanding this in my chem class. You should come teach in Toronto! :)

    thanks again!

  • @ydnewvampire4ever I'm so happy to hear that! Glad I could help :) Who knows, maybe I might come to TO ;)
