I think you have to be a responsible gun owner. I fail to the see the pleasure or pride in owning so many guns, that shit scares me.

absolutely, but that's not the particular event i was referring to. i rather meant the gulf of tonkin incident which started the vietnam war, and the government has now openly admitted to having staged. because i don't hav the resources to leave, and because it's the same everywhere else. i'd really prefer to go somewhere remote like alaska, where i could be left alone, and where i wouldn't hav to conform to society, and could choose not to do so without being murdered or imprisoned

I live in NH and openly carry nearly every time Im outside, in stores,walking my dog etc. and no one gets upset or calls the police or is scared by this, ive had people give me a little nod or a wink when they noticed i was carrying.
NH = Great gun rights, high firearm ownership.. and for many many years running one of the lowest crime rates in America.

I know of a man kill 3 police officers because he was worried Obama would take his gun. I did not see or hear ONE conservative bash that fascist pig. Oh what has our society become! An everyday individual carries a personal firearm to a townhall meeting and he is seen as a threat but when policemen carry gun to townhall meetings , its approved of. because they are perceived as carrying guns for the interest of protecting the public; What exactly makes policemen more infallible than your everyday US citizen? Last time I checked, police officers are prone to using a weapon irresponsibly as much as your everyday US citizen;

Not necessarily; Cops make mistakes all the time; They've arrested the wrong people at times, they mistakenly shot citizens who posed no threat to them, and they've intentionally broke the law and abuse their authority; Your skull must be surrounding a peanut instead of a brain if you think the cops are more accountable than your everyday citizen just because they happen to be in uniform; Most cops are not bad and your everyday citizen isn't bad either; we are all human;

Several of my family members are police officers and I agree with pentazoid 100%. Plenty of cops have used firearms irresponsibly.

@cluelessbastards and the average citizen has absolutely no training in weapons handling and moral accountability? Any good citizen practices their right to use a firearm in defense, and as such has attained training to that effect. I would like to state that the response time of the police to my home at 2am is several minutes, if you live in the boonies it can be a half hour or more. My personal response time is a few seconds. I think people like you don't trust yourselves for your protection.

Accountability?Don't make me laugh! If anything, they are less suceptibility to supervision and the standards are lowered for the police when it comes to attempting to uphold accountability . It isn't uncommon for police officers to still hold their jobs , even when caught own video cam engaging in some form of police brutality.
