i think the best thing to do at this point for you is to check and double check the brakes lines and system.....also check the fuel tank.....the question is how much damage is inside and there maybe a chance that you will need to change that....before i forget check the electrical.....if the car went threw a flod then wires also rust....so check.....you can always rebuild the engine or even go with a crate.....it all has to do with what you want.....well wish you the best and have lots of fun
well that sure is a blessing.....i read the comments about what not and what to do on your car......hey man juz do what ever you like.....if you want fancy paint jobs and you can pay for it shut man do it....i'll tell you something dow.....it takes lots of patience, time and money to get these cars up and running......ive had up to 7 impalas at once but my fav was the 64.....i just sold my last one about a month ago....and finished paying my house......
Go for a more original definitely, I'm aiming for a mostly original car, something to just drive along in. but I'm not too big on the whole lowrider and air bag thing, so when i got mine I decided to make it more what it was built for, running fast.
hey if you look around there are numbers stamped on the block and some websites online have things to decode those and they tell you what kind of engine it is, i can at least tell you it is a small block, and it is probably original as the oil filler is up front something on old motors so it is probably a 283 or 327, let me know if you need anymore help figuring it out, by the way do you live in fla.
thats gonna be an awesome car man, you are very lucky to get that, that is not a 6 cylinder it is a v8 you should find out what kind motor it is and see if it is original, just please dont put huge rims and kandy paint on it
yea thanx for the comment its kind of hard to tell what type of engine or components it has cause most of the info has been lost pretty much all i have to go on is the vin# and the original title dont worry im not gonna put big rims im gonna see how good i can actually clean those
