A friend of mine got the show copied straight onto a ntsc video tape, it was Johnny Carson's nephew who did it for him!! I still have the tape somewhere and it cost me a fortune to convert to Pal video and then to DVD!! Worth it though!
Did you know Direct TV tried to air all of these and Johnny himself stopped them from being aired. ...So now they just sit in an air conditioned vault. Sad
