Hmmm, that music that "Lady Sedgwick" was playing. Last time I heard it, it was in the movie "Rope", an Alfred Hitchcock movie about two guys who commit a senseless murder. I wonder if they chose it with that in mind?
The Joan Hickson version is much truer to the Agatha Christie book. The Geraldine McEwan version is changed beyond recognition, poorly written, and unbelievable. And the Joan Hickson episodes are not too long.

I do very much like Joan Hickson in the role, but I preferred the Geraldine McEwan version of this one. The Joan Hickson episodes are much too long.
