Zhuge Liang was a peasant by day, scholar by night; he traveled on foot, lived very humbly. As chancellor, he carried out the duties that was needed, and only took what was needed to advance Shu Han's greatness. He got cocky later because he won so many battles he began to get used to it. Ultimately, his luck was the reason he lost, Wei had more resources.

@YengaGee what i admire him the most is his spirit and his being as a man. With his gift and of how wise he is, he could easily earn great fortune and fame just for himself, but no he chooses to live a simple life before he met Liu Bei.
Even when he finally became the prime minster of Su Han his personal lifestyle stay the same, no luxury crap no vanity shit like many other minsters in his place would look after. His loyalty to his wife is worth mentioning too.

he was a smart tactician but failed to attract sufficient talent to make the difference with regard to the arch enemy tsao tsao,
