hi,normal nail polish dries fast.. acrylic paint gives you more time to draw your design.. and if you go wrong.. u can wipe it off with a wet tissue and re-draw.. But u must put on a top coat, either wise it will come off when u wash your hands.

these are my real nails :) I use all kinds of oils on them, vit E, olive oil, baby oil :)) all kinds of oils and a looooot of handcream :)

Using acrylic paint rather than nail polish makes it easier to wash off the brush and if you make a mistake on your nail you can wash it off and start over without ruining your manicure.

for me it's easier, and like MotherMistress says, if you make a mistake and the acrylic is still wet, you can just wash it off with water :)

what kind of glitter are you useing? I put glitter on my nails and the pieces were big and got all clumped up they peeled off even though I put a top coat over them...help!?

I use really small sized glitter, and a small amount, If you put too much it will peel off. If you use large sized glitter try applying them one by one, maybe that will help... but it takes a lot of time to apply it on the tips :(

You should try FINE glitter! They literally look like shiny dust powder and are very sparkly. Martha Stewart sells them in glitter vial packages. I got mine off eBay but I saw them at Michael's and Walmart.

If you don't put a top coat over the glittery part, it has a lot more shine to it but if you do, it kind of dulls them really quick. Next time I glitter my tips, I'll top coat everything else but that. =]

wow. didn't struck me to use normal paint and glitters from craft stores. it much more affordable than getting those expensive nail art because i'm not working yet. haha. but just to check, will acrylic paint and glitters be unhealthy for nails? & are they easy to remove with nail polish remover?

yes, that is why I use this stuff from craft stores, it's much cheaper, and you can find a lot of stuff that you can use for nail art :)

just make sure that the paint that you get is water based. Using acrylic paint is fuuuun, you can remove it with water if the paint is still wet, after it dries you can remove it with acetone or nail polish remover :) The glitter can be removed easy with acetone/nail polish remover, just make sure to use a good base every time! :)

Yeah. I usually get bases from Sally Hansen. I guess it should be good enough? That's really convenient of arcylic; instead of having to start from scratch when something goes wrong(: &, the dotting tool is cool! ^_^

:( you can change the glitter with a glittery/sparkly nail polish, and the black acrylic paint with black nail polish :) you can find also cheap regular paint brushes that you can chop in order to be more thin :) this would be a reeeaaallly cheap and good alternative :)

i love ur dotter thing i made one out of my old small lip brush and choped of the brisles and heated a little wax and let it drip on the end of the brush i let it chill in the frezzer and it works great and saved me some $

yes, that was a really good idea :) before I purchased some dotting tools I always used everything that had a bold end :) and some of the improvised dotting tools worked soo well :)

we have stores here called Chinese stores, and I get glitters there, or in craft stores... well if you start with glitters for the first time now, I wouldn't recommend buying the whole set, when I first tried glitter I just bought a silver one, and after almost five years I bought 5 more colors (so if you absolutely adore glitter then it's worth it, otherwise I don't know) and about the price- I would compare it to ebay prices, if it's less then ok, if not, then try ebay (just be careful) :)

u can usually buy acrylic paints in craft/art stores and shops. they come in small jars.

i think they are also called poster colors. these are easier to use on nail arts because of the consistency.
