If you are seriously in debt, just go bankrupt !!!. Forget the FSA AND OFFICE OF FAIR TRADING. If you take your cases to the Financial Ombudsman Service, be careful !! ( I shut my mouth ). The infrastructure has collapsed with knowledge and standard. Act, compliance, risk management, guidelines etc not being acknowledge. The levels of people's competency is well below par.

@kingwaldo100 Honestly, going bankrupt should be the LAST step you take. If you're in serious debt, you more than likely KNOWINGLY took it on without looking back with no way to pay it. Try to settle or work out a deal. Debt collectors are here to help people resolve their debts. There are some bad ones, but most are good natured people just like you or I. Cheating people out of their money is akin to stealing.

@Renafan Further to your statement, I think you need to wake up my friend to the real situation that millions are confronted with. Banks have given out to much money to consumers and have beached the Consumer Credit Act which is LAW, whcih these products use to fall under the remit of BSCB ( NOW GONE ) !!. Debt collectors are blood suckers. The FOS as of late last year now are taking these issues on for consumers !!. Know your rights and get to know the true. I respect your statement.
